Im away on business here in the Caribbean, but Holed up here in my room on the north-west tip of St Lucia while Hurricane Tomas rages outside

Was supposed to be flying to St Vincent this morning too, but as that's facing a direct hit now, I'm counting myself lucky to be a smudge north, and perhaps even luckier that I'm not still in Barbados which bore the brunt yesterday.
Water pouring in thru the windows, and pretty crazy outside, the rain is literally horizontal,....but wifi still working and tellybox still on, so can't complain.
Hell, I can even see peeps in the bar, might have to joint em !

Who says the Caribbean is fun

Get yourself out for a game............

A little bit of wind makes it more challenging........ :)

Driver -100 yards ;)
Wow, thats competition for Smiffy and Homer

Easy Tiger ;) I can hit it over 100 yards but can't guarantee which post code it'll land in.
:D I have had similar issues, first hole at Castle Stuart, all of scotland to aim at up the left, where did my ball go... probably made it to scandanavia now since it ended up in the estuary. :D

Spent 6 months in Belize in the Caribbean when I was in the RAF on the Harriers....
We had Hurricane drills every 2 weeks....some of the weather was incredible....and pretty scary.

One of the islands off the coast ended up as 2 islands after one pretty horrific storm when a channel was ripped through one end of the island.

Mine didn't. Straight up the middle, 8 iron in, 2 putt par.
So bollocks
;)

Ok, officially NOT FUNNY now, if it ever was........

It's 1.39am, the weather is raging STILL outside, with rain in Biblical proportions, which, as I am on the 2nd floor, is now coming through the ceiling into the bedroom & bathroom in numerous places, running down the walls and leaving the floor flooded.
More importantly, I'm concerned that the ceiling may just be absorbing copious amounts of water, before finally giving way, so I've vacated the bedroom for the lounge area of my accommodation, which isn't leaking so badly.
I've seen plenty of Storms over the years at home, but you have to experience this to believe it, the rain and gales have now been raging approximately 30hrs, ....most of the Power on the island is down, and god-knows what damage the locals are experiencing outside of the Hotel.

unbelievable, and in the dead of night, now quite scary, despite its recent stand-down to Tropical Storm from Hurricane.
Difficult to tell the frisking difference.

What time are you taking off?

My wife and I got hit squarely by a hurricane on our honeymoon in Florida several years ago. The whole scene was quite surreal. Especially as the area had been hit a week before we arrived as well.

I find these storms fascinating in a weird kind of way. I've been caught out at sea in them and on land. But the sheer power of them is frightening and strangely compelling.

Meh! At least you have Internet access. Could be worse, think of those out there less fortunate. 41 points today in glorious sunshine and won't get a bean for it going by the scores being reported so far. :D

Pretty sure I did spare a thought in my post for those outside of the Hotel......

South of St Lucia hardest hit, but sadly, 3 Tourists killed 2miles from me when they got of a car caught in a flood and were swept away in the darkness. Very sad, all were part of a wedding party staying at an adjacent hotel. Best Man apparently.

Just want to get home now, but bound to be chaos at airports as people try to rearrange their plans.

Hope you get back soon Macster, can't be much fun waiting around. Makes you realise we don't have it so bad in good old Blighty!

Golfmmad.
