Despite a cricked neck since Saturday, and it being bleeding freezin here late this afty, I could'nt resist grabbing a couple of my new Titleist CB's and heading for the practise ground to try them out

Ive had AP2's for the last 18mths, with the ProjectX 5.5 shafts, and had a good year last year finally achieving Single stats at last, at 47

However, Ive struggled a bit lately with my shots, and pushing them right a lot, so the lure of new sticks got the better of me, and spotting a set of 'used twice' Titleist CB's, complete with matching 2 iron, for £450, I couldnt help myself
The Pro was re-selling them as the Member who had ordered them decided they were'nt for him, - even the Pro conceded he had more money than sense.

They arrived yesterday, and literally, there isnt a mark on them, absolutely PRISTINE ! Bargain me thinks.

Only doubt I had was the suitability of the Dynamic Gold R300 shafts, but I figured that as my swing isnt that 'fast', they might well be 'more' suitable.

So, 20 balls with the PW, and although I can feel my neck tweaking a little on the backswing, all goes well, despite me hitting at perhaps 70% to be safe.

Collect the balls up, and turn round to leave myself 20 shots with the 8iron back across to the Practice green and flags.
Now, whether its just 'another day', or the R300 shafts, I dont know, but all I can say is that my nice controlled Draw has returned  :)

The CB's feel absolutely fantastic, lovely and soft off the face, and to be honest, dont look much different to the AP's at address, and after this little outing, I think we're gonna get on just fine.

More importantly perhaps, is just how well I might be getting on with these 'Regular' shafts, if the last half hour is anything to go by :D

Happy ? Me ? Oh yesss.........

I have the same shafts and whilst I could easily swing stiff shafts I too get the same controllable draw flight from the regs. It's a shape that I can depend on as it's always the same, never turns to a hook, and the right side is not an issue at all. I hope you get on with them as well as I do with my MP60's

good to hear you like them, injured myself at the moment but I got rid of a set with 5.5 shafts and find my new set easier to hit although it took me a wee while and some convincing. i've a slow swing speed too so glad to see I'm not the only one.

Glad to hear it Chris,i changed a couple of weeks ago from a set of MP52's with the PX5.5 shaft in them i couldn't get anything out of them they just felt dead have now went back reg shafts in my Pings and have got my slight draw back and a bit more distance which is giving me more confidence.

I've the R300 in the TP's and to be honest I prefer them to the KBS I had in the R9's. Glad they are working out for you and hope the neck gets better. Mind that 2 iron though. If you thin one in this weather you'll definitely know about it (why do we only hit thins when its freezing cold?)

Seems it isnt just me that perhaps gets better out of Reg shafts than 'stiff' etc.
Thats uplifting. When I got the AP's, it did take me a while to get my yardages, and even then, they were'nt as long as my previous Zing2's, so maybe the shaft has a lot to do with that.

Really happy with the clubs so far, and for those of you that 'dont think you're good enough' for forged 'players' type irons, dont be scared to try.
I wasnt sure I was cut out for the AP's, but dropped from 12 to 9 in the 18mths Ive had them, so results speak for themselves.

Nice one Chris, always good to hear someone getting on with their new sticks.

Only got to the range twice with my AP2's so will post a review after a bit more testing, however initial thoughts are I am in love :) :)

Nice one Chris

May need to watch the swing come the summer when you're not bulked up with layers. Dropping from PX 5.5 to R300 is quite a step, your swing may speed up as the weather warms up.

Hope they go well.

And they do look good - but maybe not quite as good as the MP58's  ;)

If you have a smooth swing you will be fine with R300s, but anyone within a fast tempo or jerky swing, prone to snapping the ball, might struggle more.

If you later find they are a bit soft, you could get your pro to hard step them, i.e. move the 4 iron shaft into the 5 (cut to length), and so on down to 9 iron shaft into PW. You would need a new 4 iron shaft, but the effect would be to stiffen them to almost midway between R and S300.
