playing last night in better ball match. hooked my tee shot well left as we were stuck behind another group i played a provisional. drove the green with my Prov didn't find my first ball. all 3 of the others made hash of it and and sank the putt for a 4 and the win. 16th again hooked my drive way left hit a prov, which went right and in the gorse. all 3 of the others are middle of the fairway with only 150 max each to the flag. found my first hacked out. all 3 went in the right hand bunker, hit a good 3rd to about a foot and sank the putt for a 4, the others again made a hash of it and we won the hole and the match..

never done that before won holes after losing balls off the tee.

30p, they used to be 5p an ah bet there smaller 😁

Anyway when hen the pit was shutting, I set up a singles KO. N the second round I was drawn against a pit bandit at his place. He was very good. Anyway after 8 he was two up and threw an hole away which I halved. I won the next three, his head had gone. I was one up and struggling on the next hole I had taken five shots and was still 80 yd from the green. He was struggling I had lost count how many shots he had taken. I remeber a pal saying to me, just keep going, just keep going. I played my sixth out of the deep rough and it dropped twenty foot from the pin. Top tier. The putt if it did not drop was ten foot past. He played onto the green and I asked how many he had taken. Six same as me. He was 10 ft from the pin up hill putt.
I putted first and it dropped plumb on the middle. His face was a picture. He missed his and I won the hole playing Seven shots on a par four. I was two up with about four to play and I got shots on two of the last few holes. His head had gone and we shook hands on the 16th.
God it felt amazing, he was gutted and all he could say is " don't know what am gonna say at work tomorrow". Er beaten by the better man would be a start.
