Well, I Didn't See That Coming.

Cracking player, cracking smile - she has American teeth :-)

Getting mightily fed up with the BBC coverage though. The amount of swapping between BBC1 and BBC2 is crazy. Started watching Djok on 1 and Laura on 2 and for no obvious reason (except she was winning and they didn't expect that) they swapped the channels/matches...

She'll be gone in round two I think but she is definitely making progress up the rankings and that has to be positive. I guess a bit like golf, the more majors you play the more use you get to the hype etc

I wouldn't bet on it. I don't think the next girl she plays is seeded and the next seed she would meet is ranked 26. If she can put in a performance like she did today she could have a few more rounds in her

It's tennis, it's crap and pointless. If it was so great this would be a tennis forum and we would be massively inflating our first serve
speeds

Tennis only exists for 2 weeks in this country!

Midway between the US Open and The Open Championship; surrounded by 'proper' entertainment - Royal Ascot and Henley! One has to dress up for that old chap!

All very beneath our dignity to actually compete dear boy. But we'll happily watch pluck losers sweat away while we enjoy our Pimms!

How the Globe actually got covered in Pink, I have no idea!

From memory, Robson actually won the Girls Singles a few years ago and yes Murray ans Robson did ok at The Olympics - Silver!!!

While it' a sport I'm quite interested in - having been the excuse to come over here (to Umpire at Wimbledon Qualifying) 20-odd years ago - it amaze me (actually, it no longer does!) how backward Tennis is in UK apart from those 2 weeks and an ex Davis Cup businessman!
