Yep. Fragger posted his 2nd best round ever - 90 gross for 38 points and took me by 4. Hats off to him, a very solid round of golf........

Except the last.


I knew I'd lost, I was 6 points down at this stage. I'd pushed one into the right rough and Fragger steps up and says " Ha! Just to rub it in, this one's going miles down the middle"
Cue a glorious top followed by another, followed by some more sh1te before a shank on approach to the green, a duffed chip and 2 putts.
What a wretched way to finish a good round..... Nobody likes to see that...

Me? Well I had a couple of 2's today which is always nice, some good shots and some rank. The short game wasn't firing on any cylinders at times, only for the V8 to kick in at others. Only 25 putts, but only 6 GIR... Playing steadily to about 10 in not very good conditions so I expect better to come.
Roll on tomorrow!!

Oh god we'll never hear the end of it now. Actually its good to see Fragger doing well. He's been knocking on the door for a while and hopefully this'll spur him onto more regular rounds in the low 80's early 90's and a deserved (and overdue) cut.

Ian you shouldn't be too hard on yourself either. Conditions still aren't great and you had a fair old cut late last year anyway so a lot less shots in the kitty if the game is a little off. Put the work in especially around the greens and you'll be fine come the start of the season

Got to feel for Fragger in that he came so close to breaking 90. Sorry Imurg but we in the High Handicappers Union have got to stick together. That said if he keeps improving at this rate he'll soon be leaving us to join Smiffy, Homer et al in Knobs R Us... Sorry I meant Mid Range Handicappers

And im pleased to say I turned him over AGAIN today 31 - 29
Not as good as yesterday and have to say that "The Chubby One" was not up to his usual standard,

There was a "Helicopter" impression performed by his errant 58 Degree wedge, but he was well miffed, so we shall not linger on that point.

So I have now had him 3 times in a fortnight (would have been 4 but for a back spasm)

Now I need to work on breaking 90 on a regular basis and chipping away at that chunky handicap

I actually wasn't doing too badly until the 16th and everything just went West! Chunked some more pitches - hence the more of a Javelin thatn helicopter but you get the picture - then pitched stone dead again - mega frustrating!!
