Mikepops has only been at the club for a couple of months at most and yesterday finished in overall 2nd place and 2nd in Div 2 in The Wentwood Salver played on the Montgomerie course. A medal comp played on a pretty windy day with rain showers at times.

The css was 71. sss is 71 and is a par 69. 114 players entered.

Mikepops scored a net 67 off a playing h/c of 16 and has a new h/c of 14.9.

The overal winning score was net 64 off 21 h/c. (Now 18).

I finished overall 8th (4th in div 1) with net 69 off 12.4 (now 12.0) I was quite happy with that in a medal.

I have gone down from 13.4 to 12.0 in the last three comps so am very pleased in which direction I am going.

Hi mate, cheers. You mentioned in a post that your coming down in the next school hols, when are they as my shifts might not give me the time to come to Neath for a game. We will have to sort out a game against you and Homer. Let me know if your ever coming past in the afternoon as after 3pm a members guest only pays £10 for The Roman or The Montie.

I was really chuffed with the result...

So far I had placed 56, 49 then 28 in comps, so I was just trying to keep the run going, and I hoped that I would get in the top 20 with -2 nett, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the results yesterday.

I didn't play that well, but was just nice and steady, and had the putter working nicely.

The highlight was making 5 at 10 having been in the water, with a curling 15 footer!

I'm chuffed with the cut too, I look forward to joining you in Division 1 before too long!?!

Well done on your performance too - nett par round there in that weather was good going!
