Hi all

Am going to go away with a couple of mates for a weekend at the end of sept for 2 nights.
possibly new forest or within an hour of portsmouth/chichester area. budget of about £150 for 2 nights and 3 rounds of golf.
Do any of you have any experience of the area or suggestions?

Thanks

I'd recommend Hayling Island....but the budget could be a problem.
What about Old Thorns?.....it's not that far away.
Rowlands Castle might be worth a look also.
Goodwood....nice, but probably quite pricey (don't know).
Liphook.....on twighlight.....otherwise, crazy fees!!!

thanks mate - I live in Chichester and am playing rowlands castle tomorrow in an ex-junior member get together - it's a nice course and I play there occassionally now with my dad who is still a member there. Was thinking further afield than the courses you mention but I appreciate the input.

We went to Old Thorns this year for our annual Society weekender. Cracking course. Paid £189 each through Golfbreaks.com for 2 nights dinner, B&B and 3 rounds. Great food and nice rooms. Not a lot of atmosphere in the bar at night though...but then, with 32 blokes, we managed to create a bit of our own :D

A few of us also ventured to the pub at the end of the driveway (about 3/4 mile) and had a few. Nice pub, but one for the locals...as we left, the barman cocked his head, squinted left eye and raised right brow and with thick west country accent said 'stick to the concrete path, stranger....' Think we ran back!
