I'm looking to change my wedge set up to accomodate a new 2/3 wood, prob the SLDR mini!
Anyhow currently my set up is 45 pw the 50/54/60, I'm looking to drop a wedge and go 45/51/57 any recommendations? Ideally not 50 bent to 51 or 52 bent to 51 as it effects the bounce.
Never use my 60 anyway and 57 will double as my sw/lw

I've played a 47(stock wedge) then 52/58 set up for going on four seasons, never once felt I should have more wedges. IMHO two scoring wedges is enough

Cleveland: Probably have the largest range of lofts available. Have a current deal going on. Just great wedges anyways.

Notwithstanding a recommendation to check out the ICYGolf.....

Why not simply replace the 54 and 60 with a single 57 or 58. Or just drop the 60 as I do in Winter - and haven't actually needed in the half a dozen rounds since I put it back in.

some steepish bunkers at our place I'd want 56 at least to get out of the bunker,51 round the green for chip shots

At club level, could you honestly say that your that accurate with strike that you will tell the difference between 51 and 52?

It's not a dig, just seems weird to restrict your options because only a couple of suppliers offer 51* instead of the standard 52*.

Personally, I'd be more worried about getting the correct bounce..........

One of the main considerations is your gap distance, so you'd want to look at how far a full shot goes with each, if 3 wedge system & your pitching wedge is say 46º, you could go Gap at 52º then have a sand wedge (which will double as a lob wedge if 'open' at address) at 58º so you've got the 6º difference.

But a 1º difference somewhere you'll never notice to be honest, just depends how bad, if at all, OCD is & how important exact order is to you!

Then what's the courses you play most on like, more linksy turf tight/firm you may well need a bit of skid so bounce to stop you digging in. Depends to on the steepness/shallowness of the swing AoA.

Clay heavy type ground you may well want a sharper lower bounce.
What's the sand like, thick powder you'll need some bounce, tight firm sand not so much bounce.

Do you have a steep swing & dig better with some bounce so you don't dig too much, or is there a shallow bottom to the arc more of a picker then not so much bounce.

Cleveland did used to do, not sure if they still do, a 51º & 57º, but as said not that much difference to notice to 52º & 58º where you're likely to have more manufacturers available as options.

But if your PW is 45º you won't really be creating any problems for yourself having a 7º gap, then a 6º gap that you'd notice any when playing.

I would also say that a deg of so will make little difference and you can create more loft by opening the face a little.

I suggest whatever lofts you use a 4 deg gap is just about right between them. I use a 48 deg PW, 52 GW, 56 SW and 60 LW. Just knock the LW out if you want to remove a club. Getting the bounce right on them is something to give consideration to.

Just had an e-mail from Iain at ICY wedges and fair play he wants people to come to him for the fitting process,I can't do that at this time, I may just go down the route of keeping my AW at the moment and just play a 56 SW, as you guys say 1 deg is not a lot of difference. So prob going to ditch the 54/60 and go 56 max,it's not as though I really hit the 60 much,I can use it but my course does not require it really.
So with ICY wedges out of the running for the time being (although that itch may be scrathed latter in the year!) who makes good 56 deg SW with plenty of bounce?

Taylormade XFT wedges are cracking, and come with a high(er) bounce option.

That or TMs ATV's.

If you don't want them to match your irons, if suggest Vokey.

They offer an assortment of bounce and loft as well as grind combinations.
