Quite a simple one really. What wedges do you use (loft not brand)?

just checked the specs on my taylormade burners and there's quite a jump of 45pw to 55sw. I've got a 60 too but am considering a 64 (to they to higher)?

i struggle with gentle pitches so need to really commit when playing with wedges which me the 60 still covers a good 70 yards. Anythings shorter and I have to try all manner of bump n runs. Anyone else use a 64 or am I better of trying to develop a pitch shot? My chipping is sound enough.

I'd be more worried about the gap between your PW and SW, rather than a 64* lob wedge.

My PW is 46*. My GW is 52*. My SW is 58*.

Plenty enough option between these 3 from 100 yards in.

My PW is a ridiculously strong 44* and the SW that came with the set (Callaway Diablo Edge) is 54* so I've added the matching gap wedge and a CG16 lob wedge. I'm quite happy with the gaps that this gives me:

PW - 44*
GW - 49*
SW - 54*
LW - 60*

Sand wedge is very high bounce so I got the low bounce version of the LW, they go well together.

quite a common problem with strengthened lofts on clubs these days i would suggest a gap/attack/approach (WHATEVER ITS CALLED!) Wedge AROUND 50/51 in TM burner series. Avoid 64 like the plague IMO!

i have. (hope bob's not online today  )

46 PW
51 AW
56 SW
60 LW

I go:

Taylormade RBladez Tour PW - 46*
Ping Tour W - 52*
Ping Tour W - 58*

Plenty of options between the three. Don't need anything higher than the 58*. If I need to send it a little higher, I'll just open up the face a touch.

Me opening face results in balding it across the green! Might buy a cheap 64 to see how I get on. And look into a gap wedge as I seem to be missing that too!

Only thing to be careful of IMO is that a 64* will likely have very little bounce. If you don't catch the ball first, your gonna be chunking it 5 yards forward.

Also, when you're opening the face of your wedges, think about how much / little you actually need to open it to achieve 64* of loft. I see so many people lying a 56* flat on its back, essentially making it about 80*, and then blading it off the bounce of the club.

Think I've only ever tried a flop shot once. Actually pulled it off but fell short on distance so probably did exactly what you said. My execution with all clubs from 6 iron down are pretty good. So I think I'll be ok the the 64. It's my long irons I get in all sorts of bother. Sometimes I'd be better of hitting to driver then to 9 irons instead of a 4 iron into the trees and four shots out lol

The RB Tour PW is actually 47* I believe, I need a 52* and 56* and Pings are def on my radar, they just look better to my eye over the Mizuno MPT-11. The Ping Gorge look good as 3 different grinds

Have a look at the T4's Darth. Especially in the Black Nickel(..... I have these  )

Mp53 PW - 46*
Mpt-11 GW - 52* (7* bounce)
Mpt-11 LW - 58* (10* bounce)

I use the 58 out of sand, from 90yards in and open it up for a flop shot when needed. 52* is 100-110yd club (full swing) and use it for most of my chipping.
I used to use 52,56,60 but found I didn't use the 56 much and was never sure when to pull that or the 60. This new combo takes the indecision out of it and I quite like it.
Gives me room for a 5w at the other end of the bag, which I wanted.

My G20 PW is 45* and the after the putter the most used club into bag. After that I go 52* and 58*, both of which I can thin through the back of the green with equal aplomb.

if you are thinning wedges all the time you should make sure you get loads of weight onto your left side. you dont need alot but if you are blading it, you should really get onto the left side then work on reducing it with you renewed confidence!
