I know it has probably been discussed before, but yesterday I bought 2 of these ball shredders -

Now I know people ask if it is necessary or not but I have been struggling to stop the ball on the clubs very dry, hard, fast and small greens.
After moving to the current club I have thought the greens are small, now after several weeks of baking sun and no rain the greens are super quick and hard. Most of the greens are guarded with bumps and hollows which stop you from a bump and run (bad bounce guaranteed).
~With the weather being so dry I have gained a large amount of roll and don’t seem to need my 3 wood.

Played last night and I must admit I was a bit over adventurous with the new toys but I have honestly never stopped a ball so quick as these babies do.

If anyone is looking for a wedge and does not want to stretch to the Vokeys than I guarantee you will be impressed with these.

I'm a bit disappointed to hear that you gave in to the hard sell act. Everytime I go to AG they are trying to flog Nicklaus stuff to every punter (think they have the biggest mark up on them) and personally having tried some of the stuff in MY OPINION it is rubbish. It looks horrid and feels horrid (no offence meant).

These MD babies look great though and if I were in the market for new ones would definitely give them a whirl

Im right there with you mate, ive had mine a while and using this 50 degree version and my 56 degree spin mill, greens have never looked so receptive.

I know mate, But the Dual Slot did feel nice and I love it. Don’t think I will go back to AG as they are quite pushy in their sales tactics, think they must be on commission or something?

And brendy that looks real nice think I will be giving the card a workout tomorrow. Just dont tell H.I.D!!

Got it about a month ago Homer, I really do like the club but didn’t lie the selling tactics.

Think this is my 1000th post. WOO HOO!! Virtual drinks all round

As a new customer of theirs a couple of years ago when I was looking for some irons AG pushed like hell towards the adjustable weighted Nicklaus set, which I didn't get on with and ended up with the Mizuno MX19s.

Just interesting to see that it wasn't just a one off then.

Also being a bit of a salesman I did wonder why.

So glad that my brand 'snobbery' took over and I didn't buy them. However a colleague of mine 'fell' for the pitch and has Nicklaus and Golden bear everything; clubs, bag and balls. Probably nowt wrong with them in reality however.

Back on thread, good news about those wedges, never really considered them before but had heard some good things about them.

To be honest I've never been bothered about my wedge and until recently was using my VERY old Nicklaus sandwedge. However I invested in a Cleveland Zip Groove 56 degree and my god it is fantastic. The spin this baby generates is amazing.

Feels great to!

Hi, If you look at my sig you will see that I have a mpr 60* lobby, when hit right(not every time) it will spin like crazy and come back towards you with some zip...however be warned they tend to be on the heavy side(the head that is) but must admit I think they are great...just ordered a 52* to go in the bag...hope this helps

must be true about ag pushing the nicklaus gear my mate new to the game came out with a full set, although they did tell him they were the only left hand clubs in the shop

Anyone tried the Mizuno R series wedges ? Just curious as to what you think of them.

My sig says it all.

Got the 52 and the 60. The 60 is great when it connects well, and for greenside bunkers, either in them or trying to get up and down over them. The 52 is now my favourite weapon. Still trying to get used to the 'bite' so often come up short around the green. But for 3/4 50 or 60 yard shots, I love it.

IMHO they also look better than the traditional teardrop shaped wedges.

I've got the 56 degree Cleveland Zip (10 degree bounce) and boy does it stick on landing. Trouble is the grooves take their toll on the cover of the ball! Still wouldn't be golf unless you win on one hand (stopping quick - good times) and lose on the other (scuffed ball - bad times)

When did you get all the Cleveland gear Homer? Did you part ex the big berthas?

My Dual Slot also rips the balls up, after 10-15 shots at the range the hole head is covered in white.

The driver was originally on a Cleveland demo and I asked to borrow it from my AG store (I know the manager really well) on a sale or return. I tried it and liked it and he offered it to me at a silly price.

The 3 wood was a trade in of my Big Bertha which I couldn't get on with and the 5 replaced my Callaway steelhead+ whichhad a pea sized head in comparison.
