Just wondering, what specialist wedges do you use and what was the criteria and reasons behind choosing them???

Nike 52 - it was cheap from here and I needed a wedge
Mizuno 58 - it was cheap in DG sale and I needed something with a little more loft for greenside bunkers

Was still using the old wedge (no loft, just "wedge" written on the bottom) from my grandads old clubs until late last year so thought I should upgrade a little.

Actually prefer the Nike to the Mizuno if I'm honest (runs for cover from Aztecs!)

52 mpt10 with 7 bounce for a 4* gap from pitching wedge and then a 56 mpt10 with 10 bounce for my sand wedge/floppy shots etc.

Didnt want high bounce for the 56 cos wanted it as an all rounder and the 52 fitted in nicely with 7 bounce for round the green chip shots

54* vokey - used to have a 50* and 60* vokey. Chose them after many pro shop touchy feely sessions. The 54* remains as there is plenty of life left in it yet and it spins like a muddyfunster.

60* PING Tour S, again, many touchy feely pro shop visits, just felt and looked great. Went for the TS version which has less bounce and a thinner sole (hence the TS). It is noticeable that it doesn't spin anywhere near as much as my old vokey 60*. Although my 4somes partner is very pleased as his provs last longer than the 1st hole now!!! :o :D

I recently brought a TM XFT wedge 60*/10*

Sinply for a little more control around the greens and an extra option out of sand traps.

I specifically asked for the 10* bounce (standard bounce) so i could use it off various lies and all year round whether the ground is hard or soft.

Mizzy MPT10 52 & 58.

Was using a vokey 52 which was awesome, and a TM ZTP 60* but found the 60 only got used on few occassions. Also found going between the 2 hard as they were different lengths and weights.

A matched set definately helped althought i think the short game lesson had something to do with it.

Currently got Vokey Design 52 and 58 in the bag. The old shiney chrome versions. They were both bargains - 52 s/h for £20 (in very good nick) and 58 new old old stock for £30. At that price they had to be worth it and I'm finding a big improvement over my old Mizuno T-Zoid wedges as they had old style V grooves so never really gave me the stopping power of the Vokeys.

Also have a Vokey 60 degree spin milled 4 degree bounce that I bought with some pro shop vouchers a while ago but which I haven't tried out in anger yet. Chose it because there was nothing else in the shop I fancied, it looks beautiful, and the demo one I tried felt superb and stopped everything on a sixpence.

Vokey 50,54,58, swapped from the Cleveland CG12s which were a touch too light for me (mainly due to the wrong shaft). The lofts were chosen to make the gaps as small as possible as I like to hit full shots where possible.

MD Norman drew 50 spins like a bugger in all scenarios
MD Players Superstrong 54 spins like a bugger in all scenarios
MD Players Superstrong 58 spins like a bugger in all scenarios

I prefer the uniform stopping power, if I want to run a ball out, I use my ap2 wedge or 9i, otherwise its the MDs.

Got 50, 54 and 60 degree Vokeys.

The 54 has 11 deg bounce which I use for sand shots, bump and run type chips around the green and most pitches inside 100 yards.

I use the 50 degree from 110-115 yards full shot and on chips from really tight lies as it has a lot less bounce than the 54.

The 60 degree has 7 degrees of bounce and I use it for pretty much everything, chips, flop shots, high pitch shots, out of rough, and short sand shots.
