As some of you may of seen, Ive just bought myself a set of AP2's and im in the market for some new wedges so I can get my gapping correct and have my whole bag exactly how I want it for the coming season.

My only issue is, I play at a pretty short course so i play a lot of full shots with my wedges and the fairways are lovely and soft, but around the green we have a lot of bare lies and our bunkers are pretty awful in fairness and are usually very hard. I don't want to limit myself to one wedge for chipping around the greens but I was considering a relatively low bounce 58° and some regular bounce and grind mid wedges (50 & 54°).

I am a little bit steep coming into the ball and do take some decent divots after the ball so I'm very confused with all of the different grind and bounce options.

Im looking at the SM6 Vokeys mainly.

Any advice would be grand!

If it's any help I run with a high bounce pitching wedge, low bounce gap wedge, high bounce sand wedge and low bounce lob wedge.

If the lie is more of the significant concern than the loft I chose my club by bounce pairing the PW and GW and then the SW or LW for trajectory.

Hope that makes sense.

I may get a high bounce lob wedge next winter as there is very little use having a low bounce lob wedge if conditions are as they have been for the last 3 or 4 months but will keep the low bounce for summer.

If you are a digger then the low bounce wedge will cause problems when playing full shots.

Don't open the high loft high bounce wedge in bunkers and you will be fine.

I'm a bit similar to Alex also. I swing pretty steep with wedges and short irons. My wedges are 52 with 8 degrees of bounce, 56 with 14 and a 60 with 10. I use all three for full shots as well but I will use anything from a 6 iron to a Lob wedge around the greens. It's a hard one for you as those bare areas during the summer will be home dry. But playing lob shots off those of you are gave with them is a lottery and it's a shot that needs no fear and a lot of practice.

Even if you have a low bounce wedge for that shot it's still pretty high risk. I would prefer to have the added security of mid to high bounce on my lob wedge for my full shots as I know there will be more of those over the round.

This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, Thank you for the advice Kid2
