wedding ring finger left hand for R/H player

guys, how much does the wedding ring finger do for your game? reason i ask is i have an ingrown fingernail and it hurts like a XYZ. I can grip a club OK, but was wandering if its going to be an issue for me playing tomorrow. I am thinking it may actually help my game by reducing my grip tension a little.. cant get to the quacks until next week, but am expecting they will have to cut the nail out, damn habitual nail biter!! i hate doing it!! but have more pressing "habits" to break first..

To put in perspective, i can only just get my wedding ring off my finger the end has swelled up that much!! LOL

Thats kind of what i was thinking! LOL (well maybe not the low score thing!) but with the pain its causing, it should make me grip less tight and thats something i have been conscious of anyway! Also, my R1 is now on the naughty step for a few rounds, so i might actually score some points just using my Hybrid off the tee.

I hate ingrowing nails; I usually get them on my feet, especially my big toe. When I start to feel them, and I know I shouldn't, I cut into them and rip out the sharp bit with nailclippers followed by regular dollops of germolene.

Lost my right-hand thumbnail earlier in the year too; it's almost grown back in now, but when it was missing it did have some small effect on the feeling in my thumb when gripping.

You'll be fine though! :thup:

I take the wedding ring off (with HID's approval) and I find it off putting when I grip the club especially in the hot weather. Never had an ingrowing nail that impacted my grip so hope you get it sorted and shoot low

I take it off to play anyway, its slightly too big and i have nearly lost it a few times with taking off my glove.

Have tried, i am proper home GP, nicked the mrs tweezers, a stanley knife blade and nail clippers all tried, its too deep.

Yeh man, it hurts like a bugger, however i am trying to get to the quacks tonight, but need to go to a meeting in Ware, Herts first so will be lucky to get back to the quacks for the 5pm sit and wait.. no biggie, Snellys advise is being taken and i am going to man up.

Googling though, i am actually concerned they will need to proper cut the nail off as its way too deep even for my medieval medical methods!

The driver is staying in the boot of the car!! bar the 18th last week, every hole i scored well on was with the hybrid off the tee.

I can run you through the 18th again if you want tomorrow? will actually talk everyone through it shot for shot.. it wont take long though as it ended with a tap in birdie!

and no, my car is grey! LOL i do own some white troo's though! the wife wont let me leave the house in them!

If you can bear to do it, cut a big V out of the middle of the nail. As it grows, the V closes and pulls the ingrown nail slowly out of the problem area.

Also stick some tea tree oil on it. It will smart a bit but help with any infection.
