Played yesterday in our March stableford pairs in terrible rain all the way round, you know the type where everything is wet after the first two holes and no hope of the grips drying until they're in your garage for the night :(.

I played with a fella for the first time in comps, only played two 9 hole social rounds with him before, he's off 27 and I'm off 13, comp was 3/4 hc with maximum 18 hc and we scored 40 points and he played really well ( he won't stay in the 20's for long ) but we still didn't win, 43 points already posted but not seen the final placings yet. Thought we had a chance coming in with that score in those conditions.

Maybe next time.

Sometimes it surprises you what wins competitions, ive seen sunny dry days being won with 37-38 points and other days where its pouring down and 40+ rules the day.
Funny yesterday, it was dry but poured down during the night and our course was closed, it rained again last night and the course was open and playing ok.
