Heard one of the commentators earlier on the Open coverage saying that unfortunately there are so many 'correct' way of playing golf, but there are so many more 'incorrect' ways of playing the game. He was referring to the way that different players grip the club, and their posture/stance etc.

This has lead me to take extra notice of just how different each player holds the club. I have found my new swing that I am currently using is more reminiscent of Charl Schwartzel, who holds the club a lot lower down compared to Sergio who tends to hold the club in a more upright position. I was finding that holding the club a lot higher (Sergio-esque)led me to topping the ball.

Anybody else notice any real differences between pro's and if your swing is similar to another player out there?

I wish my swing resembled that of Charles Schwartzel, one of the best swings out there...

I wouldn't say mine is completely like his, but I just hold the club a lot lower like he does. I have noted that he doesn't bring the club that far back on the upswing, something else I was taught during my recent tuition with my pro!

Well anything was better than the way I used to play golf before my lessons. (Incredibly unconventional)

Best money that has ever been spent on golf in my opinion!

I've had 3 hours worth of lessons since I started playing and it was money well spent. I've taken something from every 30min session

I still have two more lessons left from the block I had bought for me! Will be unleashing my Schwartzel swing at the Belfry soon.... (I wish)

The rough on the PGA is as long if not longer than that at the Open this week, its a nightmare if the driver is playing up
