Im looking for some new golf waterproofs and notice that a lot of the sets come in small, medium large etc. The problem is im tall and lanky . Im 6 2" got a 32" waist and 33" inside leg. So are there any recommendations for waterproof sets for lankys like me. Thanks

Im 6ft 5 and got a 34" inside leg , I'm currently using the nike storm fit suit in xl which are fine in the leg and have an elasticated drawstring waist in case your skinny unlike me lol.

Karrimor sierra jacket and over-trews. Been in some very heavy rain and was dry as a bone when I walked off the course, with the exception of my FJ rain gloves which are dripping wet

I'm long backed/short legged, though not to the same extent as the OP.

I have found w/p sets to be a bit long in trou (for my fat waist) and short in the jacket - even Galvin Greens.

So 'separates', even separate brands, would seem to be the way to go. I can certainly recommend Benross Trou, though the thinsulated pockets catch velcro gloves. Does seem to be some love for Proquip on here.

Galvin all the way for me. Would not buy any other brand now. Had Footjoy and Proquip in the past and have to say I preferred the Proquip out of the 2. Thing that sells Galvin for me is that you get a lifetime waterproof guarantee with them

Also have a look at the Mizuno Impermalite and the Adidas Climaproof Storm. I've got both and they have never let in any water. Mizzie has a 5 year warranty and the Adidas 3 years. Fore24.co.uk had a special on the Adidas last week for £24.95, an absolute bargain.

Returned my waterproof pants To Galvin Green about 2 months ago because there were to small splits at the bottom of both inside legs the waterproof pants were over 5 years old and got replaced, Great Service you get what you pay for.

To true. I ripped my waterproof jacket myself and sent it back to Galvin to see if they could do anything for me. I was honest and told them what had happened but as I had bought lots of other stuff from them in the past they sent me a brand new one FOC. Very expensive but as you say you get what you pay for.

Guys.

If you read the OP, quoted here, he's not so much asking for brand recommendations. He's really asking more for 'best fit for a long back' recommendations! 32/33 Pants are reasonably normal, but to also be 6'2" is a bit unusual. That's definitely 2 or 3 inches longer in the back than 'standard', though chest size hasn't been mentioned.

So a jacket with plenty of length is what's wanted. My GG one isn't overly generous in that regard. I have a Cross one that's better in that regard, but prefer the GG one for really bad weather!

Thanks for the recommendations, will have a browse. Im a 40" chest with long arms so not the normal small, medium or large :D. Anyone tried the adidas provisional climaproof jacket at all?
