Are there any waterproof trousers on the market that are meant to be worn on their own and not as overtrousers? Need new ones but hate constantly wearing them over normal trousers, would much prefer a pair i can put on before i go out on their own.

Anyone recommend any?

Proquip do lined waterproof trousers, that you can wear on their own. I have two pairs of them and they haven't let me down over the last two seasons.

Have a look on the cotton traders website, they have some waterproof trousers that are just like normal keks at a very good price. I'm not saying they would keep you dry in Pakistan but they should be ok for our climate.

Thanks for the replies, drawboy they would have been great but sold out of my size :( , anyone know exactly which proquip/sunderland ones are lined as seems not an important fact to the retailers to list

My waterproof trousers are Proquip Hydratech. Checked Proquip website and they no longer do them, but if you google them there are plenty still available and they are cheaper being last years.

I got mine from Debenhams in their 70% off sale. Ok they still cost me a tenner, but they are made of normal stuff and Teflon, so water doesn't sink into the fabric.

They are fine in the drizzly stuff I've worn them in, and perfect in dry conditions.

I don't play golf in monsoons or worse, so I've only part tested them.

Cross do a smashing pair which are lined, fantastic breathabilty and also have belt loops.

I regularly wear these without trousers and in the winter a pair of thermals under them is ideal.
