Now we're in our wetter months I need some decent trousers as I spend ALOT of time in the rough and i'm fed up with wet trousers from the knee down. Can anyone sudgest what ones to go for. I like the look of the galvin green over trousers but my mate says he gets very hot in his. So is it better to go for the waterproof trousers?

Adidas fall trousers are pretty good as are the Under Armour Coldgear ones.

If going for waterproof them GG are the best if not a bit expensive

Can get very hot with any over-trousers but IMO GG Alf are designed to be worn with leggings/long johns.

If you're not style concious, you could get some waterprrof 'walking' trousers from a camping/outdoors retailer. They have many more varieties and lots of closure styles. I have a pair with double zips up the whole leg, from ankle to hip, and can open the zips from the hip to allow ventilation. Works a treat but they're just a little to long in the leg for me cos I'm a Shorty. :D

Big fan of FJ waterproofs. Not a fan of wearing them unless its actually raining as I find all waterproofs hot and cumbersome. In winter I usually just take a spare pair of trousers to change into if I get too wet in the rough. Makes sitting in the 19th a bit comfier

As long as they are Goretex, or equivalent, then I wouldn't spend very much on waterproof trou (overtrou are a waste of time imo).

Benross, a company not renowned for high quality clubs, make W/P Pants that are as good as my GG ones imo.

I have pro quip Tour Flex trousers and I wear them in winter when its really cold or wet, over a pair of running tights and they are fine. In fact I need the 31 inch leg instead of 29 inch as mine are slightly to short.

Today I just worn ping trousers with football socks pulled up to my knees under the trousers and was very very warm down in Kent. on top just a t shirt! :)

I have FJ waterproof trousers, they are cut in quite a fitted way, but as they have a zip fly and belt loops I tend to wear them as trousers rather than over trousers, absolutely waterproof and plenty warm enough
