Hello all.....

Hope everyone had a great easter with all the lovely rain we had.

I treated myself to a new ultra light stand bag from Titleist to start off the new season and as it rained whilst I was playing the inside of the bag got soaked, even though my iphone was in a wallet it got soaked too.

£79 bag + £120 Iphone repair = expensive weekend.....

And to cap it the zip on the new titleist stand bag ruined my galvin green polo - snagged it terribly......

Anyone know of a good manufacturer of waterproof pouches as the bag just lets it pour through.

Suggestions welcomed !

Cheers,

Dizzle.......

Yes, I agree, possibly "Downpour" also......

I feel a bit stupid actually leaving my phone and wallet in the bag, just didn't expect it to happen - previous Ping bag was fine. Never was a rain colelcting bag.......

I thought about trying to waterproof the bag ( maybe Titleist should think about doing this too ! )

Dizzle........ :o

Thanks for that - I don't have a locker at my club yet, but boy I wish I did now.

Not totally happy about wallet & phone in the car..... like to have it with me on the course in case of emergencies.

Thanks for the tip - will check them out.....

What was a new high-brand bag doing letting in the rain that easily? I think I'd be pretty hacked off about that and likely to complain on the grounds that it's "not fit for purpose."

The whole point of ultralight bags is that they are designed to be light, not waterproof. My TaylorMade lightweight bag gets soaked through in the wet too. Some might have a dry-pocket but that's about it. I'm not sure you'd get far with a complaint unless the bag was advertised as being waterproof.

Most carry bags (and a lot of trolley bags) aren't 100% waterproof. They are usually a lightweight nylon material and even if it has been treated won't cope with a four hour round in constant drizzle. Also, water will seep in through the zip lining. There is a Sun Mountain bag (H20 I think) which is marketed as being waterproof. I don't think Titleist will have marketed tha bag as being waterproof and so I don't think they'd be much mileage in a complaint

All Titleist bags are as waterproof as a tea bag. I have posted on here about this before.

Very few bags are water proof. The sunmountain H2O, and the new one from under armour? are the only ones I can think of.

I can vouch for the Sun Mountain H20. I have the earlier version, weighs about 3.5 Kg and has sealed zips on all pockets. Got it off ebay for £40.

the weak point on Sun Mountain (and they all have one) is the stand mechanism - a little light imo
