There's a mum to be having her birth in an ELC paddling pool on the Beeb and social media doin the rounds. It's took me longer to open a fray bentos steak pudding than it has to for her to become a mum.

Thought it was supposed to be an ordeal.

In July my daughter-in-law went to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary at 2.00 am to have a water birth for her second child. She was back home by 11.00am. When my kids were born their mother was in hospital for a week!

they rush them through now, Fred (our 4th) was born about 5AM and we were home by 9AM. With all 4, Mrs has not spent longer than 12 hours at hospital from going in to going home... Although she did like to leave it all very last minute!

Sounds like you've all had very positive experiences with child birth in your families but the other side of child birth, when it doesn't go easily, is incredibly traumatic and fraught with danger. It's good to see things like this on TV even if it was a diluted (no pun intended) version.
