Is it just me but watching Tiger on TV is really putting me off watching golf, We know hes playing terrible and we also know the TV networks going to follow him and show every single shot he does.

I want Tiger to improve and get back to something like his best, but right now I have to admit its hard to watch him on the TV

I know what you mean. I bought Now TV the other day for the golf and watched a few guys going round when it started. Tiger came on late last night so only watched three holes. Woke up this morning and checked the PGA app. It was a shocker it seems.

For what it's worth, I find it helps my game watching Pro's show they are human also. I put myself under less pressure knowing that these guys can also hit a few wobbly shots.

Thats the thing though, hes not hitting a few wobbly shots like the pros sometimes do, its just constantly poor and its just so hard to watch him right now and as I said the networks show every single shot to,
I want Tiger to play better, hes good for the game, its just when hes like this its makes my enjoyment watching the golf that little bit less

He just looks like he doesn't want to be there. It's like the pilot light on the boiler has went out. The media have done a great job of getting him to where he is, but also they will document the fall just as much.

He missed a 105 yard fairway by 20yards.

With a three wood. Hopefully this is the wake up call for him. He cant hack it like this forever.

I should ask him if he fancies a round, I reckon I could take him. My 84 the other day has lured me into a false sense of security.

...and a rather petulant 'let-go' of a club that went flying; come on Tiger - you know that wasn't really necessary. And lest you forget ( :) ) I'm actually rooting for you to do OK, as I am a player trying and struggling to find a game again that doesn't include 'out of the blue' disasters - I need you to give me hope Tiger.

I think most people want to see him playing well again, but right now its so hard to say anything good about him, except that hes playing and trying while he knows hes playing terrible, problem is people just dont want to see him playing this terrible its hard to watch

I just think he needs to slow down his swing , hes lashing at the ball with no control off the tee

In fairness, I'm not sure that was petulance - more a case of the club getting tangled in thick rough. I'd certainly give him the benefit of the doubt on that.

Despite his poor golf, I have some admiration for the way Tiger is sticking at it and generally keeping a calm demeanour. He talks about a backward step to go forward and that's certainly true of any swing changes. I'm glad when I've been working on something and tried to take it into a comp that it's only my playing partners that witness the inevitable carnage.

I think his attitude is pretty good, his pride is taking a battering but he's just getting on with it. Hopefully he'll come good later in the year....

Yes thats what I said, the fact hes still trying and playing when he knows its little embarrassing for him well that does say something about the man

Ewen Murray on Sky called it perfectly last night as Tiger was warming up on the range. He stated his swing looked controlled with a nice rhythm to it but he said the moment he'd set foot on the actual course, his swing would be almost out of control, quick and with a dramatic loss of height on his downswing. Ewen was absolutely on the money.

What astounds me is that it has been happening for weeks now; why doesn't his coach tell him what's happening? His caddy should be telling him to slow down as well.

If he wants to pay me a couple of grand, tell him to send his private jet over and I'll gladly front up and tell him if no one on his team will! I think we'd all love to see Tiger firing on all cylinders again; this car crash TV is painful :fore:

If he could just swing slowly he would be fine. Looked great on the range, and then looked a completely different player when he set foot on the course.

Whilst I totally agree... what happens if he shoots a 63?

The coverage at least HAS to start with him.... but once he's 4/5 over they should only come back to him if he's making birdies.

There was a 'crack' as the club hit into some kind of stone/rock, it got proper jammed into the ground. I'm also going with benefit of the doubt on that one..... but he's still an arse for hitting his driver into (and damaging) the tee when he hits a bad one... they should fine players for doing that ASAP.

I agree entirely with those sentiments - it would be very easy to just give up, but instead he's out there, in front of the world's media, taking a hammering from all corners, and just trying to get better.

It's not so much watching him hack round the course that I object to. To be honest, it warms the cockles of my heart to see him struggle, because it feels like payback for years of arrogance and giving so little of himself to the public who have adored him.

What really hacked me off last night was having the coverage constantly break so we could see him warming up on the range. Excuse me? I have no interest in watching someone currently languishing down near 200 in the rankings, and who hasn't won a Major in nearly a decade, practicing on the range when there is action going on out on the course.

The media fascination with Woods simply has to stop at some point.

Why? One of the greatest ever golfers disintegrating before our very eyes is a big story.

I don't disagree. My point is, how long are we going to have to watch it? At some point it's going to dawn on producers that Woods is a spent force, at least for now, and they will move on to the new generation. Until they do, I'm afraid it's all getting boring.

And I really would rather watch live action than Woods warming up on the range. It's all just so unnecessary.

For as long as there are viewers who want to see a great player crumble and mess up then they'll focus on him.
