Whilst at Silvermere today during lunch hour getting new grips, I saw a couple of lucky owners unwrapped their new bats. :)

First one seemed to have JPX EZ irons (I think), still with their wrappers on the head. I watched him lovingly unwrap each one and put them careful in his bag. Then it was time for their first hit...gleaming in the winter sun, what will the first contact be like?!? A big, fat pull duff as the head catches the mat

Moved downstairs and luckily saw another new set of irons coming out of their Srixon box for the very first time! I think they were the 745s, looking beautiful and fantastically shiny! He spend a good time looking at each one before deciding on which to hit first. Got to be a nervous moment as the first strike on fresh metal sets the tone for the rest of their career (or not...;)). Shakily, he turns away from the ball, straightens the right leg and delivers the virgin face to the ball with a crunch. Except it was a teeth-shattering thin...:o. Thankfully, the next few were good, until a totally unwanted 'pipe' entered the fray.

Great feeling getting new gear and hitting them for the first time!

Got my Callawzy X2 Hots in September and couldn't wait to try them so did 9 with some mates that evening and played like a god.

2 days later first proper 18 at Blackmoor and my first shot is with the 7- iron. It was an awful shank and I didn't know what to do. Approached next few with trepidation but luckily it was the only one of the day.

Gave me a sleepless night but happily although not the only one since, it was thankfully a rare one.

Got some Ping i25's a few weeks back... oh my word are they cheating irons... I've never had long irons that are so easy to hit. 3 rounds with them, and I've shot 5 over, 6 over, 5 over. And the higher ball flight is giving me better(longer) carry.

But the SLDR 3 woods with a TP shaft... yuck, and now very little confidence with it.

I'm still waiting I have picked my new clubs up at the start of January but not been able to get out play so will let you know how i get on😬

I picked up a set of Ping i25's a few weeks back, the first outing on the range wasn't as hoped and I might as well have been hitting a banjo, however operator error overcome and I am now starting to hit some decent shots, they have a lovely feel when you catch a good one.

I love that feeling of anticipation as you unwrap each new iron. Fortunately, the magic dust usually makes it from the factory to the range and I hit them ok. It's when I go on the course the issues start

I have had a new driver (vapor pro) and I am getting a adams DHY this afternoon that I have reserved.
Couldnt wait to hit my new vapor. God I remember taking it to the driving range and debated about 10 minutes on what setting I would hit it first. Its all well and good trying drivers at a store but when it comes down to your own thats new its odd.

Looking forward to hitting the new adams driving iron. I actually havent hit this specific one yet but I have had a go with the 21* so my 18* should be fine.......(should)

my clubs pro shop had their demo TM woods turn up a couple of weeks ago and i was allowed to take the wrappers off and give them all a whack! I was very conscious on not skying one!! damn i want an aeroburner 3 wood now though! that thing is a weapon!!
