Im a uk subscriber to netflix and was wondering if I would be able to watch it on holiday in Turkey, I will be able to log onto the hotels wifi.
Anybody know if I could do this??

Yeah, but check the net for applicable dns? Codes. Use the US ones and you'll get better Netflix programmes to choose from. :)

The Mrs is the technical one with Netflix.

Apparently there is a code you put in to your box (ours is an. Apple one) and if you put the US code in then you get a much better choice. I think there's a guy on you tube that walks you through it.

Sorry, not much help, but someone will be along who knows a bit more than me.

Better Call Saul is available on the UK version though. :D

Simbo, you will need to be on a vpn (virtual private network) back to the UK. Sounds like c1973 is using a hacked Apple TV. Without a vpn to the UK, it won't work. If possible I would upload any DVDs you want via iTunes to the iPad unless you are gonna pay for a vpn service.

Applicable DNS codes?????

Can you explain that please I know nothing about that.

When you log in to NetFlix it will first determine where you a logging in from. It will do this using the DNS (Domain Name Server) of the device you are using, which will be the WiFi of the hotel. A way around this is to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to connect to a UK DNS so you effectively trick the NetFlix service into thinking you are logging in from the UK when you are in fact in another country. you connect to the wifi, then log into the VPN. These usually cost a monthly / annual fee.

If you control the device that access the web, i.e. the router at home you can set the DNS settings to be say based in the US. This means you can trick NetFlix into thinking you are logging in from there and get access to the US site content. We do this via a service called Unlocator.
