I'm currently on holiday in Orlando and looking through the PGA schedule it is the Arnold Palmer invitational next week at bay hill which is 10 miles from my hotel. Absolute bonus and I want to go down there however the question is...

Would you go to a practice day on the Tuesday or an actual event day on the Thursday or Friday? Both is not an option either unfortunately.

What do you want to get out of it? As a general rule you'll get closer, see more and have a more relaxed time on a practice day, also usually more relaxed about cameras, so Tuesday would be my choice. But if you want the full tournament atmosphere then it's Thursday or Friday.

I second pendodave's suggestion about golfwrx.

I went to watch the 1st day of the Arnold Palmer in 2012, we parked up at a Disney world car park and shuttle buses were provided to the course.

I would highly recommend going to watch one of the tournament days, I was expecting it to be busy (a bit like a tournament day at Wentworth) but it was so much quieter and had no problem following the marque groups.

I remember it being a bit busy around the 1st and 10th tees but once you get out onto the course, the number of spectators was fairly low, you can comfortably watch as much golf as you like.

Plus you get bits and pieces free which is a nice touch, beautiful course too!!

Thanks for your help guys. Will keep an eye out on the forum for information.

Can't wait to view some golf. Especially as it's Arnies tournament.

Tournament day for me. I went to the last day of the WGC at Doral back in 2008. Great experience.

That's where my avatar came from, I'm the 'I'.

Agree with this we went on a Saturday lots of people with Tiger and Phil but the rest of the course was empty.
as for the transport the open could learn a thing or to its so organised it's unreal.
Fantastic course you will love it.
Dont forget your hat and sunscreen as it can get very hot that time of year.
Enjoy.
