Waste management golf

Anybody else finding the whole grandstand/arena golf and the players throwing freebies in the crowd and noise, well, a bit cheesy?
Just lacking class?

A bit but they do raise a great deal of money

I'd only one hole once a year so it's not that big a deal.
But....
Not watching it though I can imagine it can get a bit tiresome after the first hour....

They probably get more people in that stadium hole in one week than the European Tour do combined for the half year on obscure courses.

Who is the american co-commentating with Feherty at the moment? He is taking irritating to incredible new levels.

Yes and that what makes it great. It's once a year and the majority of the players seem to revel in it. It also seems to keep the rowdier fans away from the rest of course. OK there is still the odd "MASHED POTATOES" but not as much as I've seen in other events.

I think it's great and really, the only time pro golfers get to play in front of a stadium crowd and they all seem to revel in it.

I think more tournaments should give it a try.

Nope, class has nothing to do with it as last time I looked you didn't have to pass some kind of 'class test' to be able to enjoy and watch a sport. God forbid golf gets large galleries making a noise and enjoying watching the sport.....

If any golf fan can't get a thrill out of the video below and would not have loved to be there when it happened then more fool them. I just showed this to my 7 year old daughter and she said 'wow'. I doubt she'd say the same if I showed here some coverage of tournaments which allegedly had a bit more 'class'.
