Were off to Devon for a few days next week and Ive managed to get permission to pack the clubs for me and my oldest lad. I was thinking of having a round at Warren GC, mainly as it says its a true links course and Ive never played one before. Has anyone played there, whats it like etc etc? Any other suggestions? Thanks all.

Have a look at East Devon. Twire is a member, so if you PM him I am sure he will give you full details. If you are prepared to drive up to North Devon, you could play Saunton, East and West, which are two cracking links courses. Royal North Devon is just up the coast as well.

Cheers, I can't go too mad as the boy is quite new to the game and doesn't have a handicap yet, and cost is an issue, I had to work hard enough to get a game, if I ask her for 80 quid to pay for it I know exactly what the reply will be!:D

I have not played it but it looks a decent track. A bit like Rosemarkie,it is stuck out on a spit of land surrounded by sea.
When my daughter was at Exeter Uni we used to go for lunch at the big pub at the top of the hill.
Good place [20 years ago] with stunning views.

Haven't played it myself but teased myself by walking beside it while visiting Dawlish on a day out. Looks quite tight and compact and its on a spit of land. Talking to one of the locals you can play it on a Wednesday afternoon for £20 a pop,
