NEVER CHECK YOUR GRIP IS CORRECT AND MAKE A PRACTICE SWING IN THE FRONT ROOM, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS A BOTTLE OF BEER ON THE TABLE!!!
kitchen towels now an addition to the carpet!!
DOH!!

Tell me about it,
TV table is missing a corner, and the picnic table in the back room is in bits, oh and also hit the steel handle on the floor sweeper.
Might try the wall trick.
Very important to keep a safe distance from the beer.

When I was a junior I was practicing in our back room (or dining room if you're posh) and I followed through rather too much and put the club straight through the glass lamp shade suspended from the ceiling.

To say my Dad was unimpressed would be a huge understatement!

He said that I was off plane and that I'd used too much wrist....... :p

Done that twice. :( :( Picking glass out of my hair for days. Ouch.

Also managed to break a window with one of those practice balls with the holes in. I put it down to weak glass, rather than the power of the swing :(

Took a practice swing in the bathroom one morning (as you do), hit a glass shelf that sat above the washhand basin, big bottle of aftershave came crashing down and put a hole in the sink. The wife was well chuffed.
:o :o :o :o

Went round a fellow golfers house the other day to find several dents in his dining room ceiling...said he'd done the first one and thought well, gotta repair it anyway might as well finish my practice!
