Do you guys warm up, especially before a comp? I was playing tonight and I didn't really get into it until the 3rd tee.
Just wondering if anybody fires a few balls on the range before teeing off? Maybe make a few adjustments to your swing?

Playing tomorrow in a medal. Will go and hit 25 balls before hand - wedges and 7 irons. Hopefully won't need to work on too much! Don't fancy tinkering with the swing just before a comp.

Always warm up. Stretch, few wedges and then few iron working towards driver. Hit a few bunker shots, do some chipping and putting and I'm done. Last check I've signed in, got my card, pencil, tees and pay a "visit" (get down to my fighting weight) and ready to rumble. Usually slow 45-60 minutes

I like to warm up, usually a bucket of balls on the range before hand. Although recently my pro has been getting me to use some stretches to aid my shoulder rotation, I find these are helping greatly. Body is feeling loose and free on the 1st even when I don't hit some range balls.

Don't think I wanted to know that bit, actually I know I didn't want to know your bowel movements!

Some stretches, a few chips and few putts.

I did go to a range pre-comp once, and even though I only hit 50 balls, I felt as if I'd left something behind on the range when I got out on the course and wasn't swinging as well I could have been.

My club only does buckets of 40, way too many to hit before a comp!

I usually scout the bushes in the short game area, plenty to be found as we have 2-3 group lessons a week that use it. I find 20 within a few minutes.

I then hit a load of half 52* shots, about 50 yards, just to get my muscles warm. I then sneakily hit about 10 of the balls with full short irons down the range before heading off to chip and putt.

Its the 50 yarders that help me best, its a mini swing and gets me going on plane (very important for me) before I head out to the course.

Club behind the head with a few hip rotations, neck rotations, toe touching, left and right arm circles, quarter swings, half swings and a few gentle full swings. Never hit a ball.

My pre comp routine usually consists of a Chicken and Bacon Triple decker and chips in the Clubhouse, 20 minute rest then 10 mins on the putting green.

If I haven't got my game when I turn up I know I won't find it Thrashing about in the net.

Scottish links course, that started with a ho-hum-ish Par 4 - with an evil green - had sufficient balls for a warm-up for £1 and practice area nearby, so that as normally used.

Last club started with a simple Par 5, so putting and picking balls up was as much warm-up as 'needed'. Generally out of range to get on the green in two, so best sort of starting hole imo!

Shire's evil Par 3 start deserves warm-up and that normally happens (after breakfast) but witing for earlier group normally means any 'warmth' disappears so sensible to add yet another club to the distance hit. Normally works out fine. Par/Birdie count certainly exceeding trips to the water!

Much like you, I warm up over the first two holes! We don't have any practice facilities close to the first tee and I often wonder if I'd play a little better if we did have.

I have been doing something similar and found it works for me too only im more of a sausage a bacon guy :D. The only thing i find in the net is the shanks.

I do have a little chip/pitch if possible and spend 10-15 mins putting. 10-15 practice swings not hitting a ball seems to warm me up better. I think if you turn up to the course not feeling confident with your swing its not gonna change in the net imo.
