Thinking of getting my son his first 'proper' golf set. Went down to the pro and nearly chocked when I heard the price - esp considering that the kids outgrow the set in less than a year. I am assuming that others with ankle bitters have had the same experience. If anyone has a UK Kid 48' set (the light blue set) and looking to rehome it then do let me know..

Look at the Masters J Series. My boy has had a set and is now on to his second set. Excellent quality and at around £70 for two irons, a fairway/driver and a putter with mini stand bag its good value. Better value than US Kids stiff IMO.

How do you do the sizing on the Masters set? My son is just about the top end of 45 for USKids, so the pro asked me to get the next size i.e. 48 and choke down.

Vinesh, seriously consider looking at the Golphinforkids stuff, its fantastic! Weighting and size is all different to traditional kids clubs, my lad is getting a set, my club pro's lad uses them.

Tnx Rooter... never heard of them but had a quick look on the website. looks interesting. Mrs did not like shelling all the money to get a golf kit that he will grow out of (she is also cross with me not getting a new dishwasher but using sticky tape to hold it together).

The golfforkids set is at £149.99.. my pro is getting me a US Kids 48 for about 110.. If you know where to get a good deal then PM and I might be tempted

saw these for the 1st time at M/cr golf show last year and have to agree they are fabulous and would recommend if after a serious purchase.

My oldest nipper will getting the golphin stuff for Christmas. Looks fantastic and came recommended on here when i asked the question about starter sets for rugrats. She'll be 5 in February and ready to go !!!

Looks like golphin may be the way to go then.. will send the ebay seller a note then..

they are the best for kids due to the weighting and size apparently. The heads are big, so easy to hit, but the head weight is relative to the size of the club (ie its lighter than say yours) but if there were a way to measure head weight Vs size, the results would be the same relatively speaking with an adult golf club. Does that make sense?

Rooter you always make sense - except when you are explaining what a T2 DC is different from a ILS rated T1 DC using a slightly different config of HVAC leading to impacts on raised floor infrastructure

neither is any good unless they have UI tier certification.
