Just out of curiosity does anyone here know the golfer that clubbed that fox to death?

Guys from and around aberdeen will know what im on about
i believe he is a member at peterculter golf club

Bet he feels like a real hard man!

Pratt! Look at me I can hit a defenceless animal and keep hitting it till it dies, hope the chunt is prosecuted!

I know of the guy, have spoken to a couple of mates who are members of Peterculter and they say that the fox was well known in the area, very friendly (well for a fox) and didn't really cause any hassle. Some of the less enlightened members saw the beast as vermin (probably have horses, a horn and a few dogs at the manor they live in) and were keen to see the back of it. Guy has been suspended from the club, certainly hope that if he beat it to death then he gets prosecuted under the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004 and gets his golf clubs confiscated :(.

I played the 36 hole open there a few times, met an adult fox once on the par 3 15th that goes along the side of the hill. The fox came out at the tee to only a few feet away, nosed about for food (people must be feeding it) and walked with us up the hole (I kid you not) sort of staying in the edge of the bracken. This one that was killed is maybe another one doing the same.
Really was memorable as I'd never seen a fox close up, they usually disappear as soon as they see anyone miles off.
Pretty grim thing for someone to do, feeble excuse too.

On a related topic, how do you get rid of foxes? I have a familly of them living in my garden, and they stink. They also mess everywhere. The fences are ok, but I have read a fox can get over a 6 foot fence anyway, so short of putting razor wire on top, not sure what my next move is.

I work in an industrial unit and we have a fox, often with cubs, lodging in undergrowth on the site. It doesn't get fed by us but will walk and sit within a few feet of us and often wanders into the building (even upstairs) and out again, we dont bother it and it doesn't bother us and it's a joy to see especially when the cubs are young

I can put you in touch with some guys with guns and dogs ;)

That's the thing, don't really want them shot, just not living in my garden. Saw a weird pir operated water spray, but not sure how fussed a fox is going to be at being squirted with water. After the first few times, I would think it would ignore it. Sonic repellers are useless, and would annoy my cat.

I have seen some spikes to put on the fence tops, but thoughpt these were illegal incase Johnny burglar hurt himself.
