Have a round here tomorrow to consider membership.

Has anyone played the course recently. Heard good things about it being open year round (a reason I left old club).

Also their membership runs July-June so gives me a few months to decide if I want to pay a years subs up front.

Rates seem competitive to what's a round the area, but having googled reviews most appear to be a few years out of date.

On my list, were you at Canterbury ?

My twin brother is a member there, having recently joined there from Canterbury since moving into the area. He enjoys the company and course

I played there a few years ago and there were many blind shots and you have to know your way round but that's soon sorted after a few rounds. On the day I played it was a mixed match and the guy was really good and helped me with the layout etc The views over the Channel are magnificent but I guess it could be pretty windy too

I hear the wind makes interesting! It's not the longest course so could be a good defence.

I figure with a four month membership trial I can't lose much. And as soon as I enquired that messaged me with an invite so seem friendly.

That's why my brother joined. He liked Canterbury and still could have travelled there but Walmer did make him very welcome

It's not bad. It's got great views:thup:

It feels a little linksy. My biggest issue is that most greens have banking around them, to protect them from the wind I guess.

It's got some nice holes, but also a couple of Mickey Mouse ones:o

The 10th for example.

The club has a nice feel to it.

I'd be saving my pennies and joining royal cinque ports.

Edit, just remembered it's also got an internal oob :o

I was awaiting a response from Cinque Ports as I messaged all the clubs in the area. But a quick comparison of green fees would suggest Cinque Ports may be a little above what I'm willing to pay with my current commitments.

Yep it would be a few quid. W&k is a decent members course, it's just a bit fiddly in places. Give it a go for four months. It's 20 years since I played Broome park, and walmer is better than that

yeah Broome was just convenient.

Id quite like to join one of the nice courses on my doorstep. But think my skill level and Pockets need to improve first lol
