Just seen that Theo Walcott is out for 6 months with a ruptured ACL

so will miss the world cup and the rest of the season

How will the effect Arsenal and England?

As much as I think he's overrated I do feel sorry for him.
Picked for the 2006 World Cup and didn't play. Overlooked for the 2010 World Cup and now missing the 2014 World Cup when he looked a shoe in.
It may put a rocket up the arse of players on the periphary of the squad though, players such as Lennon, Zaha and one or two others.
Obviously he'll be a bigger loss for Arsenal than for England ..................... every cloud ....

Slime.

Normally I would have been worried but this season we seem to be doing ok in midfield, still a few options in there.

we will miss the pace that he provides though and as In the rough says, we will definitely need another option up front now

Done nothing for England apart from the hat trick. Saying that the quality of the England squad is shocking at the moment.

Don't think it will a big loss to Arsenal either really, Gnabry looks like a good right winger to replace him and midfield depth they haev is brilliant. Don't think they'll miss him as a Centre Forward as lets face it he doesn't hold the ball up he is only any good when running onto through balls.

I think if they bring in a forward player as cover for Giroud then they'll be fine.

I was at the Arsenal vs Chelsea game non Boxing Day, and when seen live in the broader context of the game and full pitch - his pace did not seem so 'killing' - I was surprised.

I think he will be a massive loss for Arsenal and England. More so for England, and despite what some think, he has already proved he can score goals for England. Played in the right position and with the support from midfield he would have been a big plus.

Let's hope it will give Townsend the chance he has already proved he can handle and richly deserves.

I think he's gonna be a massive loss for both at a World Cup where energy will be drained he could have been an awesome sub, or started to tire out a defender. As for for arsenal, hasn't he scored more goals than played games since he came back?

It's a shame for Arsenal - don't like seeing players getting serious injuries

Hopefully England won't call up Sterling as a replacement

I won't miss him for England, massively overrated player IMO.
Terrible first touch, lacks vision and quality with and without the ball.
Once he loses his pace in a few years he'll be playing for the likes of QPR.

I believe that was true 2 years ago. His record for goals and assists in last two years have been good. His record at England isn't great but he does predominantly on the wing not upfront. Against spurs his runs opened up all sorts of space.

He is playing really well and has improved his all round game that he will be missed at England games for sure but at arsenal the young german Garanby will cover for him and there is MC returning from injury now and wenger is going to bust the bank for costa , no one will want to go to man u coz they are history , Arsenal is the future ........................EYF

He's just become England's best player, mark my words.

Massive loss for Arsenal, his pace worth its weight in gold in that team and creates most teams problems, also leaves Arsenal exceptionally short of options up front with Giroud and Bendtner injured as well (albeit Giroud due back).

What I really dont understand is fans of other clubs gloating about a player having been injured, some pretty desperate fans out there, especially those from down the road

Better than the flavour of the month "Townsend" ?

It's a shame for Walcott - every time he does look on the verge of exploding something happens to knock him back

It's harms Arsenals chances as their options up front look thin

That's the way the modern fan works - win at all costs
