OK now lets not get carried away here but at last I (kinda) pulled off a card during a comp and got cut 0.8, Now I hold a handicap for 27.2 - OK I am no Tiger.

Played Stroke with a 101 card including a 10 on a par 3 (9th hole - before this I was 6 under nett - it will haunt me forever) this then was followeb by a few bad holes including a silly 8 on a nice simple par 4 10th.

Overall My driving and putting was pretty good - with iron accuracy letting me down.

Out with 2 others I have never met before who I must add where fantastic partners, which helped to settle the nerves.

Only my 3rd comp, and I have been getting plenty of practice. Playing every few days with a friend off 15, his course play really helps me.

Yesterday I also scored 33 points (with 2 dings) in the sweep (14 holes) which I think has got me placed with a nice small prize.

Its all down to a few lessons and lots of hard work- Now lets get 25 by mid summer and 22 by the end.

Congrats on the cut.

I managed to get myself cut this weekend too. Having been given a handicap of 28 when I joined my club back in November, I have spent the winter months learning the course and generally improving the game via playing and lessons.

First medal of the season, I played to my personal best of 96 (par 70) and have immediately been cut to 26. Interesting to note that your cut was not in whole shots but in "0." of a shot.

Can anybody explain a cut of 2 on the basis of 1 card. I am by no means a bandit, but a straight 2 seems a tad excessive.

That said, my goal has been to get to below 20 this year, so I can't complain too much, but it is certain the going is definitely going to get much tougher.

Yeah well done m8. T'm still waiting for my cut....just added another 0.1 also this week.

And to try to answer the question about how to lose 2 in 1 card... My understanding is to lose a straight 2 you would need to be net-5 under but also i think if you go more than 2 over in one hole those shots don't count for your handicap calculation.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.
