After this mornings debacle i've decided its time to upgrade from my ancient Mac Gregors.
After a bit of surfing i've found these at less than 200 brick from one of the major retailers.
I must say they look very nice, but are they any good?
Do any forumers play with these clubs? and are they suitable for a 28 hacker like me-self?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, cheers BPM

You need to go out and hit a variety of clubs mate if your thinking of swapping. What may look nice might not feel nice and vice versa

As the guy is off 28 I would tend to disagree. These irons will suit down to the ground for a couple (few) years and once you start getting a semblance of a consistent swing then look at getting possibly fitted and trying different brands/models.

Wilson Staff Di11 were voted one of the best GI sets when they came out, i gamed then for about a year and they are excellent clubs

The discounted price at present makes them a good deal

So we would advise somebody begginer or not to spend £200 on a set of clubs that I assume he has not even held in his hand never mind had a hit with. Not saying they are not decent sticks they are, but surely go and have a look at some in the flesh before shelling out. That is what I did when I first started I did not just leap in and buy something without even picking one up.

We wouldn't do anything.

The guy is going to be getting a decent set of GI irons that will be more than suitable for a couple of years. Use them and get plenty of practice/playing then worry about all that fitting/trying stuff side of things.

Not on about fitting I would not go down that route either. Just do not agree with buying blind never have and never will and would never advise anybody else to either regardless of ability

Thanks for feedback guys, sorry i didn't mean to cause an aguement.:o
They are for sale at ag which is close to work so i'll pop in tomos and have a play. To be honest a few walking sticks would be an imrovement on what i play with at present. :(
Its just the thought of getting new clubs, before Mrs monster changes her mind that has instigated the apparent rush.
I'am sure you all understand.

Got to agree. Game improvement irons from all the top manufacturers should suit you down to the ground. But some might just feel a bit better than others to you personally.

Again thanks to you all.
I've checked on-line and they have them in stock with a regular shaft so here's hoping they suit
Checked on flea-bay and some jokers want 300 for the same set ??? Just goes to show how low the main outlets will go to clear old stock.

I can recommend cleveland cg16 irons too if you can find them for sensible money, iirc a guy on here has a decent set for £110

Lovely clubs to hit
