Went to try some fairway woods yesterday and ended up with Titleist 909 F2 15.5 and 18.5 degree fitted with the new Aldila Voodoo shaft.

Only thing to say is WOW!!!

Steady as a rock, long and a good flight too. Didn't hit a bad shot with them. One thing to mention about this shaft is it comes up a bit firmer than normal - the regular that I tried is more like a firm to stiff. The pro said the stiff is like swinging a drainpipe!

The really bad news is that I also tried a 909 D2 driver with the voodoo shaft as well.

I gotta get me some money from somewhere..... Maybe I'm turning into another Titleist Man???

I always had you down as a Ping man  !

Anyway it's great the fitting went well and you came out with a club/ shaft combination with superb credentials. I am definitely jealous- I love new gear but will be getting myself a fitted driver soon, and some fitted wedges soon after.

Where did you get the fitting done? And did you go in hoping to come away with the 909s?

I tried a friend's Ping Rapture V2 with a Voodoo in the other week and it was fabulous - I have a Diamana blue board in my Rapture V2 which is spot on for me but have to say the Voodoo felt very solid and gave a really low penetrating flight so if that's what you're after could be a good combo

I go to a range/shop near Thame, Oxfordshire. Spend half my life there! Went in there looking that's all - deadly!!

I got mid flight from the voodoo. Apparently there are several different versions. The one made for Titleist is quite different to the standard Voodoo. I tried that one in a D2 as well and it just seemed "floppy" to me. Same regular shaft.

Did someone mention 909 D2 ????

Got mine the other day from GM/Titleist, and have only tried it out at the range the other night, but I is a happy bunny :)))

Titleist fitter tried me with lost of shafts, including an Ozic & Voodoo I think, and we found the one that gave me best results was a DFX by Graphite Design.

Unbeleivable choice of different flexes and kickpoints blah blah...and I too had a go with 909 F2 which was great.

However, as they only do them in 18* I arent sure I'll go that way, as I want something 16/17, more like a 4wood.

I tried it out in the F2 i just could not turn it over which is the same with all Aldila shafts with me,i really wanted to get on with it as well.It looks sexy

I found the Graphite Design YS6 and the Diamana Blue a lot better for me

Diamana Blue was ok. A little bit too regular for me but not bad. The flex meter read it as definately on the firm side so it was about right for me. The Voodoo is a bit stiffer still - even in the regular flex. Not tried the YS6 but its one I'd like to, just to see if its "my" shaft.

Is that southfields in Long Crendon?

Certainly is. I'm a regular in there.

I go up there now and then aswell. Top fellas in there, I think one of the guy's is french?. He let me and my brother have a hit with the TM burner and R7 the other week and also sorted a good price out for my brother on the burner, although he didn't get it in the end!
Not a bad range, quite like pitching it too the jeep on the right hand side, Well stocked shop too and I noticed that there's loads of brands to be c/f'ed in there.

There are six different versions of the Voodoo shaft the only difference being the amount of torque in the shaft and the weight of shaft. The torque range is from 3.2 - 4.2 and the shaft weights vary between 65g -76g. I seriously doubt that they will make a different set up specifically for Titleist.

The variations in the shafts they provide will be enough to totally change the way one shaft and head combination works compared to another.

I looked into the Voodoo shaft but I hit my Aldila ProtoVS far too consistantly to change at this time although I am seriously tempted to go back to Ping for another fitting on the Rapture V2!!!!!

Will power and I dont exactly go in the same sentence!

I think I heard on a titleist pod cast that the voodoo for titleist was a high torque model, but part of the standard voodoo range.
