Evening all. Seriously considering getting one of these to use at the range and would like any feedback from anyone that owns or has used one.

I'm leaning towards the 200 for the extra features mainly of being able to adjust the lofts on the clubs as mine aren't standard. I would not be using this for measuring distances of the longer clubs. The main thing that interests me is the test feature of it giving you a random yardage for you to try and hit. I'm hoping this could really help me with my 100 yards and in game.

So, what do people have to say about it.

Thanks in advance.

Do you care if your lofts are different, you hit numbers not lofts.

I had an sc100 and compared with a track man and flight scope it was +/-2-3% as an average. The short game feature is awesome.

From what I have read if the lofts are out from what the machine thinks it will affect the accuracy of the carry numbers it gives you. I believe this is due to it calculating some of the figures. My irons are fairly strong lofts and I want the readings to be as accurate as possible.

I think it's important to look at the machine and what it is realistically capable of. If you hit your 7i 150 as an example. Try it as a 7i and as a 6i until you find out which is a true length. If your lofts are strong it may be a case of simply using a +1 rule with your Irons

IE wedge is a 9i on the machine, 9i is an 8i on the machine and so on

Yeah I get that but basically I only really want it to hit my 60, 54 and 48 on. I want to be able to practice yardages with those clubs. When it gives you a distance in the short game mode do you still input what club you are hitting? Reviews I have read say that if the lofts are correct it is within 1 or 2 yards of a trackman in terms of carry distance. But they say if the lofts are out 2/3 degrees the distance can be as far as 8-10 yards out. I have no interest in club speed, ball speed or smash.

those are the lofts programmed into the SC100. The wedges seem pretty close to your set up

I have the sc200 & it's a great piece of kit for the money. Like you I like the ability to input the latest fits for the clubs you are using. In the short game mode you do have to tell it what club you are using for the shot. It comes with a remote so it's just a case of hitting the button on the remote for the club you are using. It's pretty accurate to, it sometimes does not pick up the shot you hit, but it does not happen often. You need to set it the correct distance behind you for it to pick up your shot.
Also it can estimate total distance as well as carry. With the range I use there are numbered targets and the numbers it spits out a within a couple of yards.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have any interest in total distance. This is purely for short game practice and have been offered the 100 at a good price so going to give that a go.

Thanks again. 👍🏻

Does anyone know how far the dopplar follows the ball for? Are the calculations done after a few meters or does it follow completely? IE if wanting to hit into a net in the back garden will it follow, or an indoor range? Or if outside in strong winds will this have an affect if it follows the full distance?

only takes readings at point of impact and maybe a small bit after it. It does not follow the ball.
I use mine at the range, wind does not have an influence on the number,
