The big Fijian has had the case against him dropped regarding his use of Deer Antler spray. It appears that WADA no longer consider deer antler spray to be a banned substance and have removed it from their illegal substance list. Hence pga tour have now closed the car on Vijay.

Bit of a result for him, and murky waters for the Pga tour.

That would seem rather contrived.... Or very fortunate timing.

Apparently because he never tested positive for the banned substance when It was on the WADA prohibited list it's ok, even though he admitted to using it.

Yet again the PGA tour bending rules to suit.

I agree with Greg Norman, PGA seems very slack and it may cast serious shadows against the "honesty" of golf.
I am watching smug Tim giving his press conference, what a piece of work.

Yet again golf showing itself to be on top of such issues. Coupled with Dawson's recent poor attempts to justify the r and a attitude to women members in the press, you can see why people have a certain image of the game.....

I don't think it's bending rules at all.

And bending rules is fine. It's breaking them that isn't!

Doesn't mean he hasn't cheated - at Golf - in the past though!

He admitted to taking it, and that is classed in PGA terms as being guilty .... but so how they have wiggled out of it. Not sure why he asked for appeal after admitting it, but it would appear that is the thing that got him out of it, as it effectively delayed the process long enough.

On a point of pedantry, it is the PGA Tour, not the PGA (of America).

Not sure why anyone is in the least bit surprised. Tim Finchem et al have already shown their disregard for the rules and tradition of the game and their intent to do things which serve only their interests or those of their cash cows.

Apparently it is only a banned substance if you test positive for it. Since the tour doesn't do blood testing, then he's ok.

That's logical.

Begs the question. Why have a banned list if you're not going to test for banned substances

Bit like drink driving, you don't get tested every time you get behind the wheel. The list is there to advise and if you get tested and fail the test then your caught. No one has ever been charged for drunk driving unless they have been stopped and tested.

I get what you mean Bomber

Problem from my point is, to use your analogy, the police will breathalise you if you're stopped under suspicion of drink driving. The PGA tour doesn't activley test for banned substances.

In this instance, again using your analogy, Vijay was pulled over by the police, admitted he was in the wrong, but the police don't test for this, so goes on his merry way.
