Video Selfies Tour de France

Over weekend watched the stages of the TDF. I wasn't watching the crowds very closely but on three occasions I spotted 'spectators' with their back to the road and the race - capturing a selfie video as the race leader and then the front of the peleton sped past. Why?

They are not there cos they like racing, they are there cos they would like others to see them at an event....


My wifes family enjoy there photos of dinner far more than they enjoy there dinner....

Crazy for sure. Watching anything through a lens or recording on a phone etc just means you don't really immerse yourself in the event imo.

I thought from the title that this was riders, doing selfies, in the peleton.

I thought it sounded a bit too dangerous!

At least one rider has had to withdraw after being 'taken out' by a 'careless' spectator...
