Been struggling this week and not hitting enough GIR or FIR so I got a mate to video my swing for me.

I was amazed at how far back my backswing goes to. I was conscious of over swinging last year and made the big effort to feel like I was 3/4 swinging so to see the massive over swing was a big insight. Corrected it on the range today and the ball striking was a lot better and a lot more accurate. (let's hope I can do the same this next few rounds )

Anyone else seen anything interesting or drastic when they've videoed their swings??

I have a huge change of head position and lifting out with my spine angle. Working hard to limit it (doubt I'll ever correct it after 30+ years of having it) and have seen a huge improvement in ball striking. Lots of good players aren't textbook and so its about finding something that works and repeats especially at my level

Had my mate record me last week at the range. I had lessons where the pro told me my swing was good but i needed to slow down.

Put it is way i know why my mates call me zoro after watching it.

Im meant to count when i start my back swing and at impact i should be on 2. Im hitting it within a second of me starting the backswing.

Blink and youve missed it. I just feel when i slow down is if ive got no momentum and something will go wrong at the top of my backswing.

When I first saw my swing on video a couple of years ago I was shocked! It was just so ugly! Especially compared to the Ernie Els-esque rhythmic beauty I had pictured in my head!!

Since I started having lessons about 8 months ago Ive been taking my camera to the range occasionally to record my swing. I really have no idea what Im looking at so it kind of pointless!! but I looked through them the other day and its amazing how much my swing has changed from the start to today.
