i watched a Rick Shiels video yesterday where he was club testing the Mickleson inspired wedge. He used balls by Vice which I hadn't heard of so I Googled them and it appears that they are a German rival to Pro v1 at the top end but, bought in bulk, are much cheaper.

I read reviews on them and they came out well on testing distance, spin rates etc and they are supplied direct from the manufacturers therefore cutting out middle men and costs.

Has anyone tried them?

Yeh I found one once they seemed OK, Nothing special but just a decent ball.
Didn't seem to me it spun any more, Prov1s still the best but the vice ball isn't a bad alternative

Great find, they've certainly spiked my interest!
Unfortunately, I can only have the name Slime printed in black, not red!

Slime.

Vice sell a few varieties of ball, so watch out if trying to make comparisons direct to other balls.

Btw. They've also been named in a patent dispute that Titleist have made against 10 small ball manufacturers ... said dispute has already closed down at least one of the manufacturers with others have stopped selling theirs.

Let's hope that this is not the case of the manufacturer of the biggest selling ball which they make a stonking profit on, using their corporate muscle and reserves of cash to shut out any small scale manufacturers who can produce much the same product but sell it a lot cheaper. As god forbid that would ever happen in the world of business...

Unless that same company have poured millions into R & D, come up with a patent protected design and a small company comes along and pinches the technology without asking permission. In that case the small company would deserve a nice legal letter. Business is tough enough without people stealing your work.

Anyone. People always see big companies as bullies, which they can be, but small firms come up with inventions as well and all parties deserve to be protected. There are enough of us out there losing golf balls / buying golf balls that there is no need to steal patented ideas. Use the designs that are free to copy, make them well, price them correctly and you will do okay still.

I am sure the irony of a patent dispute will not be lost on the Acushnet big wigs following their 6 year battle with Callaway Golf for exactly the same thing.

Received my dozen trial balls yesterday, complete with monogram. Played one round with it and first impressions are good. as good distance, if not better than the Bridgestone and little difference in spin. I was impressed that the monogram didn't seem to wear at all, in spite of rock hard ground. Much cheaper to buy by the 100 so I'll need to decide what to do before the 12 are used up. Took a week to arrive from Germany, with full tracking info provided.
