Does Vettel's record 8th F1 win in a row actually prove that it's the car rather more than his ability that is making the man/car combination so successful. Or are today's other F1 drivers just not that great...

I think there's only one conclusion that can be drawn on vettel's ability based on this year..... He's better than webber.

F1 getting more boring by the race. :(

Getting into Bryan Adams territory?

I'll add that I find F1 boring any year. I have occasionally watched some of a race but have not been enticed into watching at all this year.

F1 is rubbish now... too many artificial overtaking aids, crap tyres. Drivers don't race any more because of these things. Couple that with going to Sky and one team's car way better than the rest and I can't be bothered to watch it any more.

100% agree with both points!

In Vettel you've got a bloody good driver in far and away the best car, so in terms of driver quality FD is right we only know the comparison between Webber and Vettel.

I used to watch the F1 religiously, but with the combination of Vettel seemingly being the only driver allowed an engine in his car, Christian Horner and Sky being so far up Christian Horner's backside I can't bare to watch it anymore!

Love my motorsport and still enjoy F1 as there is always, for real enthusiasts, something to take from each race... I can understand though why casual observers are currently finding it boring... Hopefully the change in regulations for next year will shake things up a bit...

Lost a lot of the excitement and strategy for me when they stopped the refuelling. It's also harder than any other sport to draw comparisons cross-generation because they change so much about what you can and can't do each season (1.6 engines next year?!).

Vettel is the best driver at the moment in my opinion but wouldn't be winning races in a Williams or a Sauber this season which is a shame. Understand that some cars are better than others due to better engineers and more money but it's frustrating that only a handful of teams actually have the opportunity to win races.

In my humble opinion, F1 has been boring since at least the late 90's. Touring cars are still OK to watch, but Moto GP(and the other classes) is where its at for me!

Take nothing away from Vettel, he is in the best car yes, but he still had to drive it! fair play to him.

It's sooooooooo boring! I used to watch loads when Senna and Prost were at each other's throats. Get Hamilton in a Red Bull and do away with team orders. Let them have an actual race.

Another nail in the F1 coffin yesterday, you can't blame Red Bull or Vettel, Adrain Newey has simply designed a car far better than anyone else's. What would be good would be to start the next race in the reverse order of the finish to this race.

Here are the reasons why F1 is boring (imo): -

- Artificial overtaking aids
- Tyres that don't last
- Having to run both types of tyre
- No refuelling
- One dominant team/driver
- Team orders

The top 4 are the main cause I think... when you get drivers on the team radio saying "I can't go any slower"... you're not watching racing any more.

2 wheels good, 4 wheels bad!

Have to say I have been a massive F1 for years and this season I have found it boring as. Vettel is an incredible driver no doubt about it but he has even been challenged. Yesterday proved it. Lead the race from the start and never got challenged once.

I really hope that next year with the changes really turns it round as they are all starting from scratch with the engines otherwise F1 might be in real trouble.

If its like that next season then its going to be watching touring cars for me on ITV 4 as there is way more action.

I'm a big F1 fan but Ive been saying pretty much the same thing for years. Have two shorter races instead of one long one. Start the first one as usual, but for the second reverse the grid positions, then we'll see who can drive and who can just point a car.

Take away the driving aids and make them use a proper gear stick again. Like many others I stopped watching Formula 1 years ago. Don't know where it gets all it's money from, "apparently" it was going to die off after the ban on tobacco products?
