A group of us are off to Vegas in October, I have been a few times before but never played golf so thought I would make an effort this time and play on the first full day before I get too drunk/hungover/depressed so was looking for suggestions of where to play.

Have never played anywhere other than the UK before so don't have any idea which ones are worth trying.

Thanks

Played there a few weeks ago
At the Nicklaus course. Bears best
Can't speak highly enough about it
Great course and facilities.
About a 30 dollar cab ride from the strip
Got a good deal through golf now as well

Rent a car and drive out to Wolf Creek. well worth the hours drive. Its absolutely incredible and a lot cheaper because its in Mesquite

also look at Las Vegas Pauite. all 3 courses are brilliant

We played snow montano and wolf mountain at the paiute. Both were good. Bear in mind though they are desert courses and it will be Roasting on them. They do have lots of taps for water round the course though but there are very little places to shelter out the sun.
We also played royal links which is closer to the strip. Was quite a gimmicky course. It again it was a good fun round.
We wanted to play Bali Hai which is on the strip as it had a good reputation but it was closed when we were there.

Just to hijack slightly ;)
Has anyone been to Top Golf near the MGM?
I'm going to Vegas next week and I doubt very much I'll get away with playing a round, but a bash at this range would be possible.

Yes we did it. personally i thought it was sh!te. cant hit more than about 6iron.
we had to wait for 3 hours to play (and apparently thats pretty normal) and you cant book from what i remember them saying.
you'd be better off going to the TaylorMade experience just south of the strip (2mins in a cab), and playing the pitch and putt there in the dark. that was brilliant

We're doing both the week after next.

A 6iron for you is probably a driver for me, so we'll be fine.

Just looking at ways to get to courses, staying at the MGM and from what I can work out a limo is cheaper than a cab or an Uber to Paiute so think we will give that a go. Unfortunately Wolf Creek is so far out that they charge waiting time so will give that a miss.

Will definitely give Top Golf a go as its only at the back of the hotel, though with it being Vegas its probably about a 30 minute walk. :P

The Wolf Course @ Pauite was really good. it cost us about $30 to get there i think.

Worth signing up to LYFT just before you go, its UBERS competitor and there are loads of sign up codes to get $5 off your first 10 rides!

with regards to Wolf Creek, honestly rent a car (£45), its one road the whole way. get a twilight time and save a fortune. You will never play a course like it ever again. Words do not describe how good it is.

I will never go to vegas again and not play it.

Great stuff. Prices aren't so cheap this time of the year as it's so bloody hot!! Wolf course was awesome. Had some very good holes

Not going until October but looking at most sites and Wolf was about $149 - $199 so thought the $60 was a bargain, its a pre pay rate so hopefully its not a dodgy site :)

Just need to sort out club rental now
