Go with the set that talks to you when you hit it, you'll know what I mean when it happens and then you'll know you have the set for you.

At my recent fitting I tried lots of different brands, but one set stood out among the others as they felt superb, as I wrote above they spoke to me, can't really describe it any other way.

Don't forget to take your own clubs as a 'control'!

The Vegas should have a fit better dispersion and, imo, look prettier! But is that enough to justify the cost?

Anything really wrong with the AP2s?

Meant to say 714s with 970 shafts nspro reg, tired already but need
Specs from fitting that's why query for vega's , using old set of orka's
But specs are standard need flatter lie , hopefully fitting will rectify this.
Thks for replies
Ps still fancy vega,s

why would that be?

My 2cents. I hated the vegas from the first strike, dead and lifeless in my hands. Titleists are far better overall imo but I've had Titleists since a kid apart from the last 2 sets which were Mizuno and TM- still got my Titleist tour blades as a boy and still love the look of them

But if Vega floats your boat and they feel right thats all that matters

Fair enough. Possibly expensive 'fancy'. Heads really aren't all that much different from the 714CBs.

But new, and exotic, shinies.... Been there, done that. Very expensive to simply be different. And a sweetly struck one feels the same (nothing) from either set!

Go for the most expensive...better bragging rights

Sorry, missed that.

Apart from the spelling blunder 'bit' better, not 'fit' better.

Shimada shafts tend to have better dispersion than Nippons - I certainly had no idea which side some 950s would miss, while a (demo) Shimada Tour Lite felt 'tight'. I'm sure I could spray it around once I got used to it though! Other than Rifles, the KBS Tours (S) or C-Taper (R+) feel 'best' for me.

Nothing really to do with the heads - forged player style CB, so reasonably similar. You may have mistaken the renowned Japan forged softness for 'dead' compared to the 'hard' feel of your Titleists, but I very much doubt it - there are differences, but most of it is a load of Bowl X! I would think the shafts would have had more to do with the feeling than anything!

I wouldn't knock either shaft or head just because it/a combo didn't feel right - FOR ME! And certainly wouldn't knock an entire brand just because I'd had an issue with 1 combination! I don't get on with PX and S300 isn't well suited (though last tried was a long time ago), but Rifle and S400 suit me well!

I know its already been said but the answer to any which iron should I buy question is Mizuno its always Mizuno

This sort of approach always reminds me of the intro to Robin Bradley's Pocket Guide to Australian Wines from many years ago.

He once heard a fair dinkum patriot declare that 'Ozzie Beer is the best Beer in the World!'. When asked what other Beers the guy had tasted, the reply was something like 'None! Why would I? Ozzie Beer is the best Beer in the World!'!

Actually the answer is it doesn't matter as long as you have the right shaft (and they say Titleist on them :D)

When it comes to Vega/Miura, rumour has it that if you're high enough profile (... Or have enough cash) you can have Nike, Titleist, or whatever stamped on the back
