Has Now Found His Wedgie
Am in Japan at the moment, just wrote a great long post about our day at the golf shop and the range, which somehow deleted itself when I previewed the post........
The gist of it, I bought two used 7 irons in a local golf shop for 12 quid each. A Mizuno JPX XD, and a Yonex Cyberstar. Tried out a new golf range, 3 rd floor and bashed the life out of the Yonex but neither me nor the lad could hit the Mizuno for toffee. I hit 3 pins with the Yonex (aimed at them too :whoo
and also managed to hit someone elses ball in mid flight, that was kind of amusing.....
The range was new and very impresive, each bay kitted out with auto tee, table, personal heater, sofa and radar tracker..... The radar measured speed and distance for every shot and flashed them up onto a display. The balls were proper Bridgestone tour balls, and the yardages were true, so it was with great delight when I pitched about a yard in front before rolling onto the green in front of the back fence at approx 190 yds, even more pleased when I turned round and saw the radar tracker measuring 188yds for a 7 iron.........I just got to believe they`re all real measurents now......
After we finished, we went back to the shop where the guy let me swap the Mizuno for another club - picked up a Titleist AP1 for the same price....... Also found in the same basket a Honma 53 degree wedge for approx 50 quid.....All the clubs are what I would describe as excellent condition, question is should I buy the Honma to bring back?
Not quite Woburn but was a fun day, and a couple of pics here
