Just can't make my mind up about the Protracer. I do really like it but I think it's beginning to get used a bit too much now.

Perhaps less is more?

What's the general consensus on the forum?

would love to see it on every tee shot personally, love seeing the flight and shape that you just dont get otherwise

Yes think I'd agree with that, but on a lot of approach shots it seems to be appearing more often. Normally the cameras are good enough to pick the 'real' ball up.

I thought that Hawkeye used on putting the other week was interesting too - but that perhaps the 'zone' might have been defined with a more transparent shading option.

I guess my overall feeing is that with a computerised line superimposed on the live shot it loses some of its 'liveness'.

yeah its a thin line, if i can see the ball i dont want the line lol

It should be on every tee shot

You generally have no idea what a ball is doing off the tee watching on TV so adds a lot to see protracer.

I really like it and am glad to see them using it a lot more at this major. Another thing I noticed that they were doing on some of the tee shots is displaying the launch numbers on the screen so you could see club speed, ball speed, launch angle, spin rate etc.

Needless to say Rory's numbers were outrageous.

These are great, was watching it last night on nowtv and I thinks its all great. Would love to see it on every shot.

Generally I like it. What I prefer are the camera shots directly close behind the player at ground level, following the ball for while, giving you the sensation of you being there with the player, IYKWIM.

Generally I love it, but I don't like the view when you have the mock up to the right that duplicates the live - I can't decide which one to watch, and that detracts from enjoyment. Overall I like the "liveness" (as somebody else said), with the thin line to show the shot shape.
