Anyone in a Club that allows the use of these during winter playing conditions in Comps/Leagues etc.
How does it work... optional/compulsory?
How is it viewed by members?
+ any other observations welcome

we don't run any comps at my club but a few guys who are also members of N Dunbar play in the Alliance and a few of the clubs in that still use the mats in the comps, NQ. as all are on Preferred Lies, its just treated as that

Thanks, Patrick..... yes, all our's would be NQ, though I know, up your way, Dollar GC have them as Q with mats & approved by R'nA.

......Not long now to St A...Old & New :D

We use them, personally I don't mind them although they do tend to be rather forgiving so getting back on grass is a bit of a change so if its dry enough I will take our other option of playing from the first cut.

We have mats for January and February then optional in March. We have monthly counting medals where mats are optional on closely mown areas.
