US Open Betting

Toms is hitting form at the right time. Furyk as has been said. Goosen may just raise his game enough.

Outsider, going to say Donald since accuracy from the tee is required, not length.

Mono what are you after tips for your not able to bet yet are you LOL

Tiger is the man to beat - also starting to like the look of Mr Mizuno Brian Gay, sure it was a week feild but winning is as much a skill as driving. As much as I have been impressed with Casey this year my head won't let me see him as a realistic winner.

I don't bet (and neither should you be mono!) so this is purely speculative.

Phil, is I think out of the running, his mind isn't in it.
Tiger, close but no cigar; I forsee a bad day at the office on one round with mucho sulking
Ogilvy, hasn't been evident of late but too dangerous to dismiss
Donald, could give this a good go
McIlroy, still too soon
Casey, strangely I think it depends on the pairings
Gay, two on the trot? don't think so
Furyk, top 5
Perry, he'll be hurting for this
Poulter,McDowell - could get top 20
Stenson, he's had his bad one

Has to be Tiger if he keeps it on the short stuff. Casey, McDowell, Furyk and possibly McIlroy are the each way bets.
It may be an idea to wait until after the cut to see how things are panning out.

Word of warning on Furyk, who I won;t now be backing. Got this off an Amercian site

Furyk was on a local show here in Philly yesterday and he said the course was playing really long since its so wet there right now. He sorta hinted that he was having some trouble during his practice rounds because he couldn't get any roll out of his drives. Take it fwiw

Also apparently weather is meant to be wet throughout the tourney, looks like it is playing into the long hitters hands.

May have a punt on Casey now.

A weak field? A weak field which included world number two Mickelson, triple major winner Harrington, double US Open champion Goosen, world number 4 Garcia, Stenson, Baddeley, Villegas, Ames, Toms, Appleby, McDowall, not much talent in that field!!!! :D

Gay has a superb swing and clearly a very talented golfer. The way he played the last hole, never mind the last round in general shows this guy has bottle and ability. I would not be surprised to see him win again this year.
