Urge to move club

Can't stand Kirkby mate, only course I wouldn't rush into going back to. Although now the formby hall lot have taken over, maybe it's a case of watch this space.

I have a similar dilemma as I will be looking to rejoin a club next year. And I believe that the little peninsula I live on, has more golf courses per square mile than almost anywhere else in the world. The problem is, I have too much choice.

The obvious one, is the nearest and arguably the best which is Bromborough (home to Paul Waring), but they still have a joining fee and the fee's are a bit steep. There are another 10 (I think) all within a 20 minute drive, most of which I would be happy to play at. But the important thing for me is that it is close. I hate driving 20 mins there and 20 mins back, especially if I only fancy a chip and putt, or 9 holes.

My last club was a 3 minute drive.

the course at bootle is better, but absolutely no facilities. Think you can get on anytime now, it not what it used to be. But my golf doesn't deserve any better to be honest.

ive not played mossock, but would love to. I've only heard good things. Anytime you fancy giving it a go, be sure to give us a shout

Imagine if Bootle had a decent clubhouse (or anything other than that bloody shed would do!) It'd be a belter. I played it in the 80's as a kid and it was half decent then - at least you could get a bacon butty beteen rounds. Nothing there now - such a shame. It's only down the road too!

Mossock is next on my list. Phoned them today and they are doing a good deal (15 months for 12) from January. About £950 for a year so could be a good choice.

Will bell you in the week mate if you fancy a knock around aintree next weekend, will also give you a shout if I am popping up to Mossock anytime soon
