Evenin all,
Just thought I'd post a little update on my thread started the other evening......
Couldnt help but notice the TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 Tour Fairway 3 wood in our Pro shop, - set at a standard 14.5 degrees, but fully adjustable down to 13*, so asked if they could tape it up and let me have a crack. Sure - duly done.
I nip out tonight for 30mins, only taking my usual R7 3 wood (15*/Steel Shaft), and the RBZ, and head staight onto one of our long Par4's.
Few practise swings, and here we go....
1st one, teed low as I usually do.........not sweet inevitably......but still away ok.
2nd one.....feels off the bottom, but finds the fairway........
3rd one......Tee it up a bit more..... I 'chase it' a little, and push it right a smidge.
4th........ Finds the Sweet spot and flies.........and flies.......down the middle.
I walk up the fairway with my 'Measure Shot' activated on Garmin S1 Watch.......
No1 - 219yds.....
No2 - 235yds.....
No 3 - 232yds.....
No4 - Oh yes.........252yds. Now we're talking.
I walk across and play another of our long Par4's.......this time I hit 2 with my usual 3W......both find the fairway,
and both 220ish.
Then hit 3 with the RBZ,....all sweet, ......all on the fairway.........and all 235-240.
I then tried it off the deck, and despite me not being the best 'fairway wood' exponent, all get good distance with good contact, and although i'm 220yds back, 3 go through the green.
I think I may have found my solution to hitting fairways.......and considering its the first time I've swung it, results were very promising.
Head weight felt good too - you could feel it right through the swing, something thats lacking with me with Drivers......that same feel.
BUT - also tempted to try and find somewhere to test the Adams fairways too.......supposedly also very long.
