Alot of clubs now are doing offers for under 30's that you pay about £200/300 less than the full amount of the subscription.

If you were under 30 and been a member before this was put in would you expect them to put you on to this scheme as well??

yup, if i was a member of a place offering this and they wouldnt put me on it, id leave then rejoin.

They may not take you back? But ye, I guess I would expect it. Are they doing it as there are too many old duffers in the club and they see they wont have a future as the old members pass on?

I'm lucky enough to be on one of these schemes. Costs me £385 per year instead of £775. Makes my club great value for money.

Seems a bit ageist though! But I'm not going to complain.

They introduced this this year for us, under 25s are about £390 a year now so I got a cheque for £350 to play golf for a year as i'd paid in advance by direct debit. 25-29 goes up by a couple of hundred but still good value. Mind you I'd pay full fees with the amount of use I get out of it.

You might earn more money when you're older but you spend more on mortgages/supporting a family and you have less time to play.
I had far more 'cash in my pocket' when I was under 30 than I do now.....Sigh!
Also I had time to play golf and therefore get some value for money out of membership. I've played 3 rounds at my club this year so far and am quickly losing interest as I haven't got the time or energy to get motivated.

I feel like I should be getting a discount too! :( ;)
